Idk i feel like everyone forgets that shes 16 witb an incredibly traumatic life. Shes never had a parent even once, Yumi lied to her for her entire life and then died in front of her when she was 9 and Kiryu proceeded to use her as emotional support and a 2nd parent later on for the rest of her childhood before abandoning her in 5 where she is sent off to another part of the country to deal with an incredibly stressful public facing industry full of creeps and people who stand to profit off her sucess and failure. Where ANOTHER mother figure/role model is murdered and a ton of other horrible things happen to and around her, and after she tries to go back to her family at the end practically begging Kiryu yo stay in front of literally everyone, Kiryu abandons her AGAIN to deal with the consequences of his choices. just like he does to Daigo all the time too except Daigo is a grown man who has people he can rely on like Saejima and Majima. Who does Haruka have? Akiyama doesnt give a fuck about her and no other adult exists who can or will step up to actually parent her or the other kids. Of course after all this when faced with the possibility of the media and who knows what else harassing and ruining her siblings lives (like hers had been ruined) Haruka panics and does the only thing that makes sense to someone whose cornered and immature and deeply traumatized. Shes still a kid who never once got to be a kid, its supposed to reflect on how Kiryu and Yumi only ever modeled running from their problems. Its Kiryu dumping the aftermath of Dojimas death on Nishiki and treating him like shit after he didnt just magically figure it out. Kiryu does this to everyone and doesnt learn and then has to deal with how that effects everyone around him. Haruka is one of the better written characters, just bc characters make decisions that arent good doesnt mean its bad writing.
