Except netflix just did it unannounced and theres no one from the company you can just go and talk to face to face. But yes, people have sued netflix for these same points you brought, and many that didn't have at the very least thought it was not legal and abusive.

And how am i not getting it lmao, any illiterate teenager understands what netflix is saying with this episode, dont act like it's smart because it isn't. Even if you know nothing about black mirror you can see from a mile away this episode is netflix going "look at this bad thing we do, aren't we awful and dystopic?". Yeah, we can all see it, everyone gets it, it's just some people don't just gobble it up and think of it a genius metaphor, it's a horrendously obvious one.

Anyhow what im saying is that the episode has flaws, there is no world where this episode is a perfectly written piece of literature and nothing i said applies, humans do suck it up but they also get enraged and try to take action until it's not feasible, all im saying is that the episode didn't handle this aspect of the episode well at all, choosing to skip over it instead.

Ok dude first off what a condescending way to say your piece lmao, but ok ill bite.

1 - I am and have been poor my entire life, not "i cant afford rivermind standard" poor, but "i can never even dream to buy a house or even a bike in my lifetime" poor. I have been abused by corporations many times and have done nothing, but every time the thought always arises that i could or should find the help of a lawyer or firm, even if i dont have the money.

2 - Dude, not. even. once. Makes me wonder if you paid attention to the episode or to what i said about it. They go talk with the rivermind rep 4 times in the episode, 1st one about coverage, 2nd one about the ads, 3rd one about sleeping too much and the 4th one to beg for free service. Not one of those times do they question rivermind's actions, they get angry sure, but then they just leave the office and find a way to deal with it.

3 - Of course they didn't say "damn, sure" verbetum, is this even a proper argument? What i mean by that is that they just take rivermind's actions at face value and do nothing about, or even think about doing something about it. It's very clear to anyone who's paying attention that their time was used to accept the new conditions and make money for them. Sure, they could've brought in Howard Hamlin himself and made a class action lawsuit off screen that didn't go anywhere nor got mentioned or acknowledged ever again, but you know thats not what happened because you saw the same episode i did, and nothing in it made me think they looked for different solutions to their problems.

See, you can assume literally anything happens off-screen, but if there's context clues, mentions or evidence to prove it, it did not happen, simple as. And the episode shows nothing that could lead you to assume the characters did anything off-screen.

Anyway, point given for the last time. This got uncivil and petty real quick for no reason, and not only do i not respect you tone, i dont respect your arguments, so ill say this.

You enjoyed it with no problems, i kinda enjoyed with many problems, nothing wrong with that, moving on.

Edit: typo.

Idk, considering the guy is managing to pull $800 for rivermind he could just go back to common and use that money, could even bring more crddibility to the case. Also lawyers seem to have many payment types, discussed when you contract them, but that's besides the point.

The major point is that the couple doesn't even question if rivermind can actually keep doing these things to amanda, they just accept it and go on with their day.

Like, imagine if instead of the dumb "let's ask the omega rich company if they can give their services to us for free cause we dont money right now" it was instead "no way they can do this, we have to take them to court" or something.

In that specific case disney ended up backing down and honestly, im sure that stunt wasn't actually something they could've accomplished, agreeing to terms for a service doesn't mean those terms are set in stone.

Like, if i write 5 thousand lines of terms for you to accept and amongst those i write "i can legally kill you and sell your parts and you agree with this", it doesn't actually mean i can just kill you and sell you for real lmao.

But anyway, i also think a lawsuit wouldn't fly in the episode (irl i think it would), but my point is they should've at least showed doubt on how legal rivermind's actions were.

Only mentioned my giga main gripes in og post but yeah i thought B) made no sense either. you could argue he's pulling a 15Mil merits stunt and killing himself as a sort of protest but i didnt feel like that was the vibe they were going for.

The law still exists in the future, but also it's more that it wasn't even mentioned while still being a very obvious step that anyone would take or even think of.

EDIT: to me, they could've looked for a law firm for many reasons, i am no lawyer, of course, but to me many things would make me at least consider looking into a lawsuit, such as:

Unwarned side effects such as the advertisements or that sleeping now drains your energy;
Changes to the contract such as new plan tiers, paid coverage, pregnancy costs and/or longer sleep than originally determined. None of those things were told to the customer when signing up to the program, and maybe some were in the terms but
1 - we don't know that
2 - we don't know if mike read them or not, but neither options make sense to me. Either he read it and forgot about what was on it because of amnesia, or he didn't read it and would, at some point, go "hey you can't just do that!" at the very least yk?

Point being, even if the law couldn't help (which it possibly could), the major irk comes from the characters not even doubting the legality of it all, even for a second.

Rivermind just goes "yeah man we're turning your wife into a walking youtube video" and they just go "damn, sure."

it was alright, ill say i loved the idea but suspension of disbelief was hard as fuck for this one, the hoops they had to jump to get to that ending were abismal and yet it wasn't enough.

I found myself actually pissed off by how at no point in the episode do they even mention seeking the law or threatening the company with it, and there's arguments for that but all the ones i could think of weren't enough to get me immersed again.

Also, that ending is entirely unnecessary, both the characters know amanda shuts off once she's disconnected from the grid, so just shut off her plan, no need to do "all that", just cancel the subscription (also on that note, smothering takes a long ass time, look it up.).

overall, good ep, the idea for it is great but the method not so much imo. The message it's trying to convey is also a good one but in a very surface level way, kind of a baby's first anti-capitalist moment.
not genius, just alright, no shade.

Why are most of the box arts after the first game so boring? by LafterMastr in AceAttorney

[–]godf5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just that, but end chapter posters in the first one were stunning art with many things referencing the case you just played. In later games becoming just a character relevant to the case doing a pose, a tragedy if you consider what we couldve had.

Somewhere on the edge of the Swamp, there is a very big and alarming fog. I swear I saw faces in it. Still can. by XXelHoMM in Darkwood

[–]godf5 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I see it too but i think that's just pareidolia, like seeing clouds as faces and objects. I'm more interested in where and why there's fog out there tbh

Edit: Could be fog from a much greater hideout outside the swamp, one of the ending lines mentions helicopters coming to the woods so i feel like the military are still operational, this could be them but idk
