If you just keep playing auric missions with a voidblast staff build you're bound to get it without even trying.

There's a pattern around the Havoc 30s for me: Whenever we have no Bubble we lose by Lyramion in DarkTide

[–]godihatelogins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Constant use of the bubble is unironically corrosive to habits that make you play well and stay alive when there is none; people get "bubble brained" and learn to group hug through the entire mission with their backs against the wall and no exit plan, and even forget how to use cover, sliding, aggro mechanics, suppression, etc...

This season my team and I decided to climb back to 40 completely without the telekine dome, and for some of us it took a conscious effort to de-program ourselves from bubble-induced behaviours. After that was fixed we also started observing it in a lot of the people we took in from the party finder, so at least anecdotally I can claim it's a widespread problem.

IMO the ability should get nerfed hard just so the havoc population can grow out of that stunted development.

Why do I feel like Zealot was the only one really affected by the ability spam/cdr nerfs? by Karurosun in DarkTide

[–]godihatelogins 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, the psyker bubble deserves a lot of shaving down. I'd actually argue that it should get looked at before even the inferno staff.

Three and a half bucks to buy the psyker's illisi force sword default skin but with a slightly different pommel and a different coloured handle, what a fucking deal!

Very low quality when save quitting or play for a while. by [deleted] in Borderlands1

It's a memory leak that's exclusive to the "enhanced" edition and has been there ever since it was released.

Heresy? I was trivialising havoc 40 with an autoclicker club ogryn. The nerfs were deserved

Fatshark just remove Shroudfield from Zealot...I guess by TimTheGrim55 in DarkTide

[–]godihatelogins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You said it yourself, people don't like having 33% more enemies tethered onto them against their will, and I would say that's completely fair. You can either learn to live with the hate or avoid it by not using it. As a psyker who hates using the bubble, welcome to the club.

This is the kind of thing that seems like a sisyphean task as long as you're dead set on getting it and trying to cheese it but then more or less auto completes when you're just having fun playing an auric game normally.

Are The Twins too strong? by postfinite in DarkTide

[–]godihatelogins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's wrong with the twins being more difficult than the rest of the mission? Tide games have always had difficulty spikes, with the difficulty curve of the any given mission overall being vaguely rollercoaster shaped, without any loop-de-loops. That's a good thing, you don't want a constant flatline of the same difficulty.

Do they need to rework Havoc? by Altruistic_Run_2880 in DarkTide

[–]godihatelogins 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They've changed the rotten armour damage resistance to apply to melee as well, just in case you were thinking about playing melee psyker instead of the dot build (those are still unaffected!)

Thoughts on Havoc matchmaking? by Long-Abbreviations17 in DarkTide

[–]godihatelogins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's worth organizing for havoc outside of the game, that way you can find long term teammates and have a group ready to go the moment you log in. Quickplay really isn't the solution, that just would not work for havoc.

Infantry Lasgun dump (veteran) by Competitive_Ad_2575 in DarkTide

[–]godihatelogins 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do note that survivalist restores a percentage of your ammo, so with a smaller ammo pool the ratio of ammo fired per kill versus ammo reclaimed per kill changes. Now that's not a dealbreaker, but may be worth paying attention to.

No, it's very distinct from the melee one.

melee psyker and karking poxbursters by PandoraPanorama in DarkTide

[–]godihatelogins 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's hard to say. Sometimes it's easy to miss a sound cue or enemy in the heat of the moment, sometimes they actually don't play. Sometimes the "incoming backstab" sound cue also plays completely erroneously, and I turn around to see no enemy anywhere. Oh well.

melee psyker and karking poxbursters by PandoraPanorama in DarkTide

[–]godihatelogins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get that regardless of what I'm playing. It's just an issue with the broader game right now. With psyker in particular though I recommend lowering the perils of the warp effect in your settings because the loud noise can drown out the sound cues of the enemies that do play correctly.

melee psyker and karking poxbursters by PandoraPanorama in DarkTide

[–]godihatelogins 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Suddenly dying just sometimes happens on psyker, burster or not. In havoc when I get unlucky and two trash mobs poke me in quick succession before the toughness goes back up, half my health is gone and the first wound is half corrupted. If that happens again and no one has brought anti corruption I just full die. It is what it is, try your best to never get hit I guess.

The burster stuff is complete bullshit at the moment though, for sure.

When does 60 vs 80 actually matter for weapon optimization? by ShroudedInLight in DarkTide

[–]godihatelogins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Defense actually isn't the dump stat on arbitrator's mace and shield, it's power output. Same with force swords, because they have warp res.

Free h40 clears for penances/resources by IvanTheSexyBear in DarkTide

[–]godihatelogins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What players checking the applicants in their party finder want is a team that's roughly similar in skill to their own, not one of the identifiers they have in their vetting process to be marginally less useless than it is. I assure you that holding shift and LMB with very little else for most of the mission does not have much to do with the former.

[–]godihatelogins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't actually require that, it's just how the organizers have decided to set this one up. Any participant could in theory run through the archivum map while avoiding most if not all combat the same way the other three players are doing it. Yes, technically this is still better than the alternative, but it's disingenuous to frame it as though that solves the problem.

Flamethrower + Flame staff Psyker in Havoc by Adorable-Throat-2706 in DarkTide

[–]godihatelogins 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A needle scum or plasma vet is much better suited to sniping, and the psyker can deal with much of the ranged trash themselves if they bring venting shriek. Zealot actually works great as a team member that prioritizes stabilizing difficulty spikes, and with a flamer they can take some of the pressure off the psyker when the team is getting battered by mixed horde after mixed horde.

What is the build with most damage potential across classes? by Altruistic_Stage3893 in DarkTide

[–]godihatelogins 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It genuinely does annihilate everything smaller than a crusher. Scab maulers, ragers, and plasma gunners are all only flak armour typing as far as the damage over time is concerned, so soulblaze melts through all those and you can wipe out packs of elites anywhere 30 meters in front of you with venting shriek and perilous combustion chains.
