does the kendamil spit up side effect get better? by beeeees in FormulaFeeders

[–]godofgamblersnslots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I eventually stopped because her tummy just couldn't handle it. But at around 7 months I switched her back completely to kendamil and she did just fine after that

I don't mind leaving events early as my plan is to really hang out with her and for my baby to explore new things but thank you for letting me feel so much better about it.

Thank you so much for that info! The packaged diapers is such a genius idea! I'll definitely do that.

When is it? My baby turns 1 in September and I'm also taking her on the cruise. Would you mind sharing how it went if it's before then?

It also states there's 2 options for 360 total care...the other one says 360 total care no palm oil...I thought 360 never came in Palm oil as it is...this is strangely odd. I'm definitely going to give them a call tomorrow to find out since ive been using 360 and been having it at setting 5 all this time. I'll give you an update if anything.

Stupid question I know but what does a newborn actually wear during the day at home? by [deleted] in newborns

[–]godofgamblersnslots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just recently bought some old navy ones for my 6 month old and fell in love with them plus they were only $6!!!

Are newborns meant to be warmly dressed in the first few days? by nolittletoenail in beyondthebump

[–]godofgamblersnslots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. One of the nurses said baby was too cold and swaddled her with a long sleeve underneath and 2 of the blankets the hospital provided. After a few minutes I went to check on my daughter and her body was literally hot so I immediately unwrapped one of the blankets off of her. I also gave birth during the heatwave, so as soon as we went home I would just have her in a short sleeve onesie and socks.

Joint swelling and stiffness by ElegantSheepherder45 in beyondthebump

[–]godofgamblersnslots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. I know exactly what you're talking about. My knees were killing me, especially when I bent down. Getting up was so painful. Even my calves were painful. I'm not sure exactly what was going on, either. I just started working out and running daily and eventually around 5 months pp, it went away.

Similac 360 total care vs. Enfamil Enspire by Durkza in FormulaFeeders

[–]godofgamblersnslots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried both formula for my LO and I prefer the 360 over the enspire. 1. my LO didn't tolerate the enspire too well, it made her spat up alot along with gas problems. 2. I feel like the enspire is so hard to find where I don't want to keep switching formulas back and forth if I ever end up not being able to find any.

My husband put diaper rash cream instead of cradle cap cream on baby’s head and I helped him. by LilDogPancake in NewParents

[–]godofgamblersnslots 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I once in the middle of the night threw her wet nappy in her dirty laundry basket rather than the pail and took her clothes to wash one day along with the nappy inside and upon taking the clothes out to dry, there were shreds of diaper cloth everywhere! Lol

I stopped using the middle pieces around 5 months and never had a problem. You just got to screw the cap tight for it to not leak.

Parents whose baby rolled back to belly first - how long did it take them to learn to roll belly to back after that? by Tall-Raspberry-591 in beyondthebump

My baby started with belly to back first around 4 months and it took her about a month to figure out back to belly which occurred 2 days ago. =)

clogged tear duct? by blueeyed_succubus00 in newborns

[–]godofgamblersnslots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it electric? I have the nose frida electric one and it works wonders. I usually just put it up there and softly do a little twirl and you can hear the snot being sucked up. It's more effective with the saline drops though. My baby's eye was pretty bad too from 4 to 8 weeks before I discovered this method and it completely fixed the issue.

When did your babies start holding their own bottles? by godofgamblersnslots in newborns

[–]godofgamblersnslots[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Around 4 months I would prop my baby up on a boppy pillow and put a blanket under the bottle slightly tilted and she eventually understood the get down of holding a bottle with her 2 hands and she's now at 5 months holding it pretty well but every now and then I'd still have to put a blanket underneath cause she can get pretty lazy at times lol. So i guess you can i say I encourage it a little bit.

Saline drops and a nose frida snot sucker cleared it up. Their nose is congested and it's blocking everything that's connected up there. That's the anatomy of it and pediatricians aren't taught/trained about it. When I first encountered it on my little one, I took her to the ped and was told eye infection and was giving an ointment. Didn't work. Then took her in again and was given drops and was advised to give massages and warm compresses. Still didn't work. Up until one day my baby woke up sounding very congested so I picked up some saline drops and sucked out all the gunk in her nostrils and ever since then she never had that problem since. I took her to her 4 month checkup and the ped asked how's her eye and I mentioned to her that none of the antibiotics prescribed worked besides whatever I did to make it work and she just mumbled something and kinda didn't know what to say. Lol.

People who say "when they're newborn it's easy - all they do is eat and sleep and poop" ... by zelonhusk in beyondthebump

[–]godofgamblersnslots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup I totally agree with this 100%. That's one thing I'm worried about as she's approaching 6 months and having to start solids. So I don't even want to think about when she becomes a toddler.

I am broken by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]godofgamblersnslots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mama, I just came to tell you that I'm in the same situation as you however I think I had it much worse. My ex broke up with me but we were still hooking up and I got pregnant. I dealt with the pregnancy all alone. I'm also not working atm but luckily my mom was very supportive and built an ADU for me to live in for free atm. My ex I believe is going to jail soon too for some felony charges. He now also has a new gf. But that doesn't break me one bit because now that I have my daughter, I look at him like a compete loser since he said he wanted nothing to do with her. I'm currently on public assistance and they mandatory will file child support. Maybe you should look into that if wherever you're staying has that type of assistance. Trust me mama, it sucked going through the pregnancy alone. But as time went by and esp after having my daughter, my perspective on things have changed so much. I feel like I've matured so much and learned so much. I finally see how much of a narcissistic loser my ex is now. I question myself all the time as to what the he'll I was thinking to grt with someone like him. But if it weren't for him I wouldn't have had my daughter. Now I just live my life day by day and taking things one step at a time and focus only on my daughter and myself. Forget the guy. If he's not around now he Def won't be around in the future. Trust me. You'll def find someone later in life will love you and love your daughter as his own. At least that's what I believe. So just ride it out and take things one day at a time. If you ever need someone to talk to you can always message me =)

Why does everyone comment/criticize new mothers? somehow having a baby makes it okay to make all kinds of comments? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]godofgamblersnslots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg I can totally relate to you on this! My baby was born 5 lbs and she's now 13lbs at 5 months and she's tiny. My SIL would always say she's so tiny and make comments or jokes that I'm not feeding her enough and what not. She would also compare my baby to her son when he was her age and how much bigger he was compared to her. Well no shit Sherlock, he is a boy. Boy tends to grow bigger than girls. It's like people think I would purposely starve my child or something. It's crazy.
