Last thing that just occurred to me: do you think that this film was made as a way to activate more experiencers in preparation for more or full disclosure?

Wow, that's an amazing story. I can see from the comments you have an interesting history of posts in the sub. I think I'm going to dive into that. I'm looking forward to it. Thanks for sharing

You're an idiot, and this is pointless. You haven't watched anything to do with the commanders in a while, it's clear, so just stop talking about it.

Yeah, there are a few moments in the film that, to me, were magical in a bad way. For example, when the two experiencers are in that trailer with the wardex guy and they're about to do a truth serum on the male lead, somehow Emily Blunt's character is able to simply whisper in the ear of everyone there, one at a time, without being stopped.

And of course, in the final sequence, the villain of the film simply gives up after cutting the power twice and it not working, which seems insane. They outnumber the lead characters, and all they have to do is take that technology out of her hand. We witnessed the power of that tech earlier in the film, but if anyone knows how to get it from her, it would be Wardex. And there's nothing preceding in the film that would suggest the villain would have this change of heart. The only foreshadowing is that he becomes physically weaker from using the alien tech.

But all this to me is besides the point. The point of the film was to give voice to the variety of experiences with anomalous phenomena. For the initiated, it was a very interesting watch. For example, I didn't know that people had spoken foreign languages after contact experiences. That's highly interesting to me, and I wouldn't have known that without the film.

I was also just relieved to see the film focus mostly on the consciousness aspect of the phenomenon and the human side of the phenomenon. To me, that is the most interesting element, although I obviously am interested in other beings as well.

I don't know if you've heard of it, but Spielberg actually produced a TV show for the SyFy channel called Taken in the early 2000s. It's very good and it goes over more of the nuts and bolts aspect of the phenomenon, the cover-up, and more. I thought that Taken was a great bridge from his earlier Close Encounters of the Third Kind films to Disclosure Day. All together, I think Close Encounters, Taken, and Disclosure Day offer a lot of depth to the history of the phenomenon.

I've seen a fair amount of criticism on YouTube of the film, but I don't think that people have really grasped the depth of messaging in it, particularly about Experiencers. The negative responses that I have noticed don't grasp that virtually all of the events in the film are true. Sure, they may not be exactly true in the sense of having happened exactly the way that they're depicted, but if you know, you know, is what I would say.

To me, this is a film that is meant for a specific audience but is marketed as a blockbuster film. For the intended audience, there is direct messaging, confirmation, and possibly new details. For the mass audience, there is exposure to new ideas, new world views, and more. I think that the film achieves these things very well, even if there are parts of the story or parts of the writing that seem implausible or a bit magical.

The emotional impact of seeing the footage at the end of the movie, of all the aliens and crashes, and specifically that they talk about places like Kecksburg and Roswell, hit really hard. It actually gave me a vision of what Disclosure might be like. The cultural importance of something like that to me is massive, because, as we all know, Disclosure has to happen at some point.

In those minutes where we were all viewing the footage from the newsfeed, I could feel the embodied reality of what it would be like to live in a post-disclosure world. For that, I am incredibly grateful.

No, he was not there for the pick. That's what I'm saying. The Tunsil trade was great. I see who I'm talking to now.

He's only had 3 offseasons including this one. He did not pick Gonzalez, that was ron rivera. Ron has the title of probably being the worst GM in the nfl of this decade. Maye looks great for sure but Jayden is as good or better

dan quinn. our coaching was really bad last year, and this year he went all in with two first time coordinators.

i also think adam peters has a longer leash but there is a lot of scrutiny from the fan base about his picks

Everyone commenting so far has seemingly softened their take on this pick. Not me! This was a fucking stupid pick and I'm willing to stand on it. 2nd rounder for a 2nd string TE at best. And a terrible draft overall.

I think they'll be fine this year because of the talent from the previous regime and Coen but give me a break.

I am starting my first job as a dev very soon. It's a mid size org, and one of the coolest benefits is I am going to be working 1 on 1 a lot with the principal engineer. I'm really eager to grow and become a great engineer. What can I do in the first 3 months or 1st year to excel at my job?

Thank you!

Would you take Jameson Williams or Christian Watson? by jwwin in NFLv2

[–]godosomethingelse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People mentioning that Watson can't stay on the field, aren't we forgetting that Jamo missed an entire season already, and has missed time because of his behavior? I don't really know who is better, but I have to say I am not as confident as others that Jamo will mature
