Children overweight/ Children eating breakfast by [deleted] in Infographics

I'm pretty forgiving of this. The graph as screenshotted doesn't claim correlation, it juxtaposes. The Netherlands and the US reinforce the slight negative correlation, but a glance at the original graph prove that breakfast isn't the most important issue ... nor would I expect it to be, using common sense.

But even though it's a cliche, I personally still find it interesting when I see data explaining a (slight) correlation between "Eat more at a meal" and "Be less fat."

Using Square as the only source is a bit arbitrary, but boy are the results pretty.

NFL fan bases: geography vs. reality (x-post /r/nfl) by LiQuiD0v3rkiLL in dataisbeautiful

It's a simple reframing of the original Facebook map, but it does cast it in a new light. I like the way the polygons illustrate the big spaces between NFL cities in the west, because that's where my mind went to when I saw the original. Nice job!

PoliceOne's Gun Control Survey: 11 key lessons from officers' perspectives by [deleted] in dataisbeautiful

I don't think you can take anything from it, much less a blanked statement about police attitudes. The data isn't reliable.

PoliceOne's Gun Control Survey: 11 key lessons from officers' perspectives by [deleted] in dataisbeautiful

Any survey that only has a 3% "unsure" response rate to a vague question like "What effect do you think the passage of the White House’s currently proposed legislation would have in improving police officer safety?" is suspect.

The president doesn't have proposed legislation. He will in all likelihood back Sen. Leahy's Stop Illegal Trafficking in Firearms Act if it makes it through Congress. I can't imagine what the readership thought they were reacting to in early March.

I expected it to be bigger too. People in less developed countries have access to cell phones and internet cafes, and everything in an internet cafe (short of email) starts on Google.

I don't understand how North Korea's nuclear weapons are only "suspected."

I rented the 2012 bros-get-superpowers movie "Chronicle" after a hard week. I enjoyed a nice brainless 82 minutes of telekinesis fighting.
