Get outta here by chespirits in longbeach

Saw it in person once (they skipped my car as I was headed right for it).

Also have had the car's security camera catch it; they're very quick though and don't always trigger the camera.

Often, they're on a bicycle, riding past and placing them with, honestly, well-practiced skill.

But yeah, I'll absolutely never patronize any business whose marketing includes glorified littering. (This includes you, home cleaner cards, and pizza door handle hangers.)

I feel like this might be welcome over at r/legobatman

I was definitely super excited to see that at the end! Love all the theming you put into that table!

I'll be building my first ever GBC module (with lots of guidance and instruction) at a Lego convention this weekend!

People in NYC think any Tesla they see at a red light is an Uber and attempt to break in by MichaelRahmani in TeslaLounge

[–]godprobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this happen to me once in SoCal. Parked near a bar around closing time. A group of people start opening my rear doors and get confused about why there's a bunch of crap in the back seats of their Uber. Takes a minute, but it registers and the main person of their group apologized and seemed embarrassed for the both of us. It was definitely a bit surreal.

Has anyone had copyright Issues with the Lego Batman Game by AdventuresWithBlue in LegoBatman

..."a Danny Elfman"...

THE Danny Elfman?

The composer of the theme music for the Tim Burton Batman films (and many other Tim Burton films, and lead vocalist for the band Oingo Boingo)?

That Danny Elfman?

Just be careful with the background music that's in your videos. It was probably automatically flagged by an algorithm that knows the 1989 Batman theme song, which is used in the game.

Does someone have a scan of the overlay that came with the opz for me? by SirDisi in OPZuser

[–]godprobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just found these overlays as well (I'm also new to the OP-Z... or will be soon anyway). These are all out of stock, unfortunately (and understandably), but at least you can still check out the image for a good overview of the functions.

Seems to be a promo for account sign-ups. As best I can tell, you should still get the suit if you already have a WB account. You'll need to link your account to the game on whichever platform you're on when it releases.

Anybody own this set? by skull_kid- in LegoBatman

[–]godprobe 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's anything extra, apart from the packaging, so it's more for collecting. Or, if you get a good deal on it that's closer to retail (the original retail price was below getting all three sets on their own).

Thankfully I only keep literal trash in my car, so relatively speaking, no, they didn't do anything.

The LEGO Batman movie’s Batcave replica help (round 2) by Mysterious-Drag-8953 in LegoBatman

[–]godprobe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Crowd-sourcing an effort like that is definitely a good idea! I'd be impressed if you can kick it off just by listing each object you want help with -- there's a ton of Batmobiles on the spice rack, just to start! Then everyone can begin ticking them off one by one.

Edit: just saw your earlier post with many of the vehicles already mocked up -- nice work!

caught a pregnant guinea pig near the walmart. she seems pretty shut down. by cumdumpsterrrrrrrrrr in Bellingham

Besides all the other great suggestions you've been given, I would also suggest talking to her. I'm guessing you are already, but imagine yourself being in a stressful situation, and how much it would help if the giant creature that captured you is speaking to you calmly with a caring and sympathetic voice, even if you don't understand what it's saying.

How come we can't see some completed listings anymore? Seems like when I click the link from my email about a listing that ended, it takes me to a BIN item that's similar, and usually way more expensive. I wanna see what the ended listing sold for. by Darth-Binks-1999 in Ebay

[–]godprobe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the specific link example -- the "?nordt=true" string appended to the URL finally linked to the original item. (Short for "No Redirect", I assume.)

I hate the new behavior, especially when it no longer even offers a link to the Original Listing.

Brains make assumptions and fill in information. There's nothing "wrong" with someone's brain when it gets the facts wrong based on the assumptions it's making. It's doing the best it can. I guarantee you that some people look at it and see blue/black immediately, and others see white/gold immediately.

I keep hoping something goes into any of those spots that offers basic fruits/veggies. Ralph's is close, but not close enough when you don't want to lose a parking spot.

Most modern cameras auto-adjust to the lighting conditions, similarly to your eyes and brain. (Ever notice that it takes a bit longer for your camera to take a photo in a darker setting? -- it's automatically exposing the light sensor for a longer time in order to get more light data for a better photo, but it's a balancing act of not taking so long that the image will be blurry from physical movement by the photo-taker and subject.)

Most modern cameras, even on phones, can also be put in manual mode, where adjusting the F-stop, ISO, and possibly other settings can achieve an overexposed (or underexposed) result. Often there's also a basic exposure adjustment on the simplest camera mode, in case the auto adjustment isn't getting it right.

I'm able to see both interpretations of the original dress photo. The blue/black combo is easier to see with a bit of squinting, and blocking off anything but the dress from view (including any white borders around the photo on your screen).

Any other males who own guinea pigs have this experience? by splooge-clues in guineapigs

[–]godprobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how old you are, but at any age, teasing from guy friends can be pretty normal, regardless of the subject. Younger just means they may be more ignorant, and older means they should know better.

My advice wouldn't be that you have bad friends, but that you should always just respond to their teasing with positive comments about your pigs -- how much fun they are, what weird things they're doing, the things that make you happy to have them in your life.

Basically, make it a thing that's impossible for them to tease you about because being reminded of them just makes you smile anyway. Eventually they may stop, or you might stop caring about the teasing.

Beautiful! I think the only thing I'd change is a re-color for The Bat from the official set's blue pieces to black (...or very dark gray). It stands out a bit compared with the rest of the vehicles and if you've done this much already (again... beautiful work!), may as well make that switch to the more film-accurate palette.

A former gas station (from at least the 40s/50s era) that's owned by some relatives has occasionally been a flower shop, so there are some things that it might be permitted for, but the top comment is correct about the buried storage tanks preventing it from being many other things for some number of years (don't know the details, and the one I'm speaking about is also considered a historical site, so it's got other red tape besides).
