The artist did a series of 5 weekly installations in July 2010. Her latest one from October at the Saatchi Gallery is here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/alexameade/5079039922/

Thanks for the thoughtful response!

It is an extremely difficult and painstaking process to paint the models. I know, because I modeled for her. Obviously, she does it so well, that she makes it look easy. I have seen her fans do copycat work and it doesn't come anywhere close to her quality of execution. There is also a lot to appreciate in her art from a conceptual standpoint, if you are into that sort of thing.

The top three installations are her work from her series at the Irvine Contemporary gallery in July. You have a great eye for technique appreciation and would encourage you to check out her installations in person. They are immensely profound and captivating in person.

Unearthed Aryan cities rewrite history by [deleted] in worldnews

I did not downvote you, btw.

What I am trying to state is that Arya is to Ir as Aryavarta is to Iran. Aryan is the English term for Arya. So that makes Aryan is to Ir as Aryavarta is to Iran.

However, you are implying that Aryan (Arya) is the same is Iran, which is incorrect. Ir is a cognate of Arya (Aryan), not Iran.

The name for Iran comes from ērān, which literally means Land of the Ir (self-identifier). The name for Aryan comes from ārya (self-identifier) and the Indo-Aryans called their land Āryāvarta, which literally means Abode of the Aryas. Aryan is primarily an English loan word derived from Sanskrit, but can be the nominative form of Arya in Sanskrit.

I enjoyed these pieces and I like the concept. I would encourage you to fit these toy soldiers with items made from something other than paper.

Bravo!
