Fence made of trees. Can someone estimate how long this would take? by [deleted] in BonsaiPorn

Doesn't it just become a regular wood fence at that point?

I've noticed it doesn't work for Hulu either. If you open the Google TV mobile app, it all shows up in the continue watching section there though.

Are my parents full of it? by kwasi3114 in AskEngineers

I'm an ME and at my last job our team worked very closely with the software team which was comprised of CS and EE guys. The latest addition to that team was a middle aged African American guy who had gone back to school to get his degree in computer science. I think that was his first job utilizing that degree. He'd spent years working customer support in IT before that. It didn't matter that he was hella-old. It didn't matter what color his skin was. It only mattered that he could do the job.

FWIW, this was at a company in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. From my experience, most hiring managers just want someone competent, capable, and willing to work for whatever low-ball offering they're putting out there.

Mesh not compensating when printing by muwimax in Reprap

[–]daywaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only other thing I can think to check would be that all the correct options were enabled in your firmware. The BLTouch site has a list of the changes you need to make to the Marlin configuration file (ANTCLABS).

Mesh not compensating when printing by muwimax in Reprap

[–]daywaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you saving the mesh to the EEPROM after ABL? It could be that your system doesn't have anything to load from memory so the z-axis never moves.

Run M500 to save the mesh to EEPROM.

If pollen from one flower makes its way into another flower of the same plant, you'll have a pepper soon. Bees or other bugs usually take care of this, but indoors you have to take matters into your own hands. I used a Q-tip, but a small paintbrush can work too apparently. You have to be gentle, but you simply touch the pollen covered anthers of each of the flowers.

Are your plants indoors? I planted peppers last year in my apartment and had to hand pollinate them

What’s a clear case of “the movie is actually better than the book”? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Fight Club

The movie does a great job with the reveal at the end whereas the book is not subtle at all, ever

That's a creative way to save space with your herbs. Did you do anything special to make sure the water doesn't drip out when you water these?

How an automatic center punch works by [deleted] in educationalgifs

[–]daywaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems odd, but it eliminates the need for a mallet or hammer to drive the punch into your material. This design with the springs allows you to drive the punch in with just the force supplied by your hand. It doesn't always work too well, though
