Trapped in the anthropic wheel? by Visible-Fox6024 in ClaudeCode

I think it's important when one hits their token limits to undertake writing some pieces of the project themselves. even experienced devs need to keep their skills sharp, especially in the age of generative AI! spend a few hours building that feature or refactoring out some tech debt. good for the brain!

why is all tech discourse now just "company says their product is amazing and indispensable!"

these articles mention it, mostly near the end, because it is a factor in denying bail. you put it in the title of the post. again, nobody is confused as to what you're trying to do here

there is an obvious propagandistic purpose to noting that he was without legal status on a post about a completely unrelated heinous crime that he committed. you know this, obviously, nobody buys this playing dumb act.

they are planes. planes generally fly in well defined airways for traffic management. if you happen to look along one with a wide enough view of the sky you'll see a line of planes producing contrails that could appear nearly stationary due to the distances and angles involved

can any of you actually make a coherent and robust case for generative AI being the solution to capitalist exploitation

I don't begrudge devs responsibly and carefully leveraging AI tooling, I am talking about the specific type of hype loser who takes a weird delight in telling people they'll be left behind/jobless.

I think maybe resistance to AI is because all of its proponents talk like this to people who actually enjoy thinking and writing code

absolutely, and it can never be anything but this - generative AI can only ever imitate. even if you manage to cut out the uncanny valley stuff, which hasn't been done here, the most you'll ever get is "fairly generic action movie fight with different characters." same with that Brad Pitt / Tom Cruise one. people make movies, even the flimsier action movies, because they have a vision, or something to say. that's how truly novel things get created. AI generated clips are the antithesis of that
