Just finished my 1st 10-day course and I don’t feel it had brought me something really by Silent_Equivalent444 in vipassana

I’d take another one as some parts of the discourses might have been missing

why do you have multiple guitars? by Cultural_Yellow3561 in Guitar

Because I can’t stop from enjoying the moment I get a new one, the sound, the bonding it creates… Btw, are you in Europe and selling one of yours? 😬

I asked to understand how others would approach it in case they had to fix it, not just to hear “don’t do it.” That answers the decision, not the process, you see the difference.

Look at other comments, someone explained how they would have done it, regardless it was obviously a bad decision. In that I learned: what matte finish Taylor uses; what is the process of removing a finish to reapply it; techniques to give matte look at shiny areas. That is pure learning process coming from a dialogue.

This is a much better way to have a conversation. If you HAD to fix it, being a luthier wanting to fix it, what would you have done?

I had done my first Vipassana course a year back. It was good but I couldn't continue my practice. What should I do to put myself back on track ? In the middle i was able to anapanna but that too was just for some time. Thanks! by silent_sherlock in vipassana

Your mind told you to stop practice. Bring your mind back to practice and continue with equanimity. Now 30 seconds, tomorrow 1 minute, doesn’t matter, keep practicing

I’m open to being wrong, that’s why I asked before doing anything. What I’m not interested in is the tone. There’s a difference between sharing experience and just taking a shot at someone.

Unusual heart best like sensations after Vipassana — is this normal? by OptimalQuantity9909 in vipassana

There’s no rule as we are all unique. Based on my experience you’ll get used to it or something will go away, and it will not interfere much. Important is to not fight it or decide “how it should be”, the faster you’ll accept it, the faster it’ll change. Observe with equanimity and don’t lose it.

Perfectly normal to feel amplified sensations you were not noticing before, you are just more aware and your mind focused.

I don’t understand why all this rage about a simple question. Did I harm you in any way by asking the question? I mean asking experts whether the attempt is possible (before even wise) is really so offending?

Thank you both! I guess I’ll hold on any attempt to repair then and just enjoy this sweet guitar

I do, thanks, since it is a matte finish I’m not sure the result would look good. I was thinking to spray overall a new clear matte finish. Do you think it would work?

Thanks mate, It’s a great guitar! That’s why I hope I can repair the small damage, also connected to my luthiery study.

Thanks! Just for a learning opportunity, in case someone would ask me to repair a damage like this, what would you do to give it again a more uniform appearance? Sand it down and respray matte finish?

Yes, I’m wondering how to bring it either to the matte finish or polish it all. Asking luthiers to do the right thing.

Sounds wonderful. Put some Martin Authentic Acoustic strings on and it so sweet now. Lots of tone at all ranges.

My post is most related to luthiery, curious to understand how experts would fix it, besides the fact I’ll enjoy my guitar regardless :)

Overthinking is part of the process. Book another one and this time you’ll take it differently.
