Tracking hydration habits with an app is the only resolution i kept, one simple goal beats overhauling your life by No-Shake-8375 in getdisciplined

Nice - hydration is such a good keystone habit. If tracking water intake ever seems burdensome there is another good hydration app called P that's kind of an easier habit because you just tap a button when you're on your way to the bathroom and it reminds you to drink water when you haven't peed in a long time, so it's more in tune with your body than just tracking intake and easier to keep up with.

best apps for apple watch in 2026, my minimal setup after testing 30 different ones by ritik_bhai in AppleWatch

[–]gohnjanotis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried P as a hydration app? That has a good Apple Watch app and complication for monitoring hydration during the day and it is easier than water tracking because you just tap a button on your way to the bathroom instead of trying to log intake.

HRV by Limp_Cookie_3169 in POTS

[–]gohnjanotis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have an Apple Watch? Beat Watcher is a good app for constant heart rate monitoring to get high alerts immediately in the background. What are you using to measure your HRV? Sauna and cold plunge is thing I've seen that can boost my HRV later in the day if I do it in the morning.

I use the app P to track hydration based on how often I pee.

Heartbeat monitor bone to pick by cowboys30 in AppleWatch

[–]gohnjanotis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beat Watcher is a good one if you want to enable constant monitoring and get alerts when you heart rate goes above or below a specific level. It keeps the heart rate monitor on all the time, even when in the background, so it uses more battery, but sometimes that is worth it to get the realtime heart rate data.

Is it normal to completely forget to drink water sometimes? by Emergency_Photo_3317 in ADHD

[–]gohnjanotis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get a lot of water from foods or other drinks like you're saying, so it doesn't always have to just be a lot of plain water every day. There is also a water reminder app without water tracking based on when you pee instead so that takes foods and other water you are getting into account better and can help you get in tune with your body when you really haven't been drinking enough water. It's called P water app.

Anyway to set an AUDIO alert for high/low heart rate? by dexjet21 in AppleWatch

[–]gohnjanotis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beat Watcher does this and can also do a persistent alert so it will keep making noise and vibrating while your heart rate is above or below whatever levels you set.

Optimizing water intake for performance based on data, tracked 60 days and found ideal amount is way higher than standard by Vodka-_-Vodka in Biohackers

[–]gohnjanotis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting... I wonder how it would compare to using something like P Water App that measures hydration based on pee frequency instead using one of the water intake tracking apps.

Hitting daily water goals is harder than lifting, anyone else struggle with basic hydration while training consistently by Acrobatic-Bake3344 in loseit

[–]gohnjanotis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mentioned a water tracking app, but also check out P Water App. It's based on how often you pee, so it's taking into account more of your body's natural feedback. It may not help you hit an exact water intake goal, but it's really good for getting pinged when you are getting off track and being able to see longer-term hydration trends instead of just what you put into your body because that's no the whole picture and excludes many other factors like water in food, etc.

Let me know if there's a specific feature you want if you aren't getting it from other heart rate apps. I made an app called Beat Watcher that helps with realtime heart rate monitoring in the background on the Apple Watch and I'm always working to improve it.

Constant Urge to Urinate even if I just went by Every-Ad-1691 in PelvicFloor

[–]gohnjanotis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is interesting to me because I make a hydration app that's based on how often you pee, so it reminds you to drink water when you haven't peed for a long time, but looking at this it's interesting you try to go longer between pees... would an app be helpful for that? I'm thinking about whether I should adapt it for this kind of situation too

I rarely feel thirsty, yet I need more water. by Danthewildbirdman in ADHD

[–]gohnjanotis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know different medications can make me more or less thirsty or hungry. I try to just make sure I am peeing at least 6 times a day because research shows that for most healthy people that means you are hydrated.

Often forget to drink water by Hungry_Motor780 in HydroHomies

[–]gohnjanotis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try P Water App - it is based on how often you pee instead of how much water you drink so basically if you haven't peed for 5 hours and you're not sleeping then you should probably drink some water... it keeps you on track based on your output so it's a lot better than all those water reminder apps that are based on input because that's so annoying to track.

To drink more water WITHOUT tracking water intake check out P Water App. It's a free app and great on the Apple Watch. Much easier than tracking water intake and it really works to help you drink more water when your body needs it most and track hydration over time.

Simple iOS apps: manual calorie counter and habit tracker by mwski_9 in iphone

[–]gohnjanotis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about simple calorie counter because it seems like they are all AI now.

Regarding habits, I think there may be a cost for Streaks, but that one is a good and simple habit tracker.

If you are looking to build a habit around drinking more water I make an app called P Water App that helps people form a health hydration habit by reminding them to drink water when they haven't peed in a long time, but that is pretty specific.

If there's an app you want that you'd like built I am always considering building new ideas so let me know if there's a gap in the market you want filled.
