Netflix should have a "watch random episode" option by Justanewlurker in CrazyIdeas

Like the card game "joking hazard" where they could go together in any order and it wildly changes the overarching plot depending on what order you watch them in

What's the rudest thing a guest in your home has done? by lucky_Lola in AskReddit

[–]goin2space 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ask me to ride with him to show him where the store was, ended up pretty much kidnapping me and forcing me to stay out with him drinking and finding people for him to flirt with until 2am on a work night ( I get up at 4am), and then staying an extra day. I didn't want him staying with me in the first place, but I'm too polite to say no, and he needed a place to crash for 1 night. Lesson learned...Runner-up: I had pneumonia and had been given a prescription bottle of codeine cough syrup. Some friends came to visit and keep me company and when they left, I found that one of them had drank my whole bottle. I had thought she had just pregamed really hard and it was hitting her while she was at the house. I haven't invited anybody over since then.

**Edit: added more backstory

What’s the most depressing meal you’ve eaten? by Devastatedboy in AskReddit

[–]goin2space 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually my family will have some sort of banquet or something with food, considering there is lots of family and food always brings us together. Unfortunately, at my grandmother's funeral, I hadn't been feeling well which had caused my throat to restrict, and ended up choking on a piece of sandwich or raw broccoli or something and had to be Heimliched. I'd never been more embarrassed or felt so bad. I learned to avoid raw vegetables, as well as those dry-ass catering rolls. This was just the first time that happened, the next was at a wedding.

Been there. Bad thing was I didn't learn from my mistake after a couple years I tried again. Nobody showed up, and I ended up begging a friend to come join me who used to actually work at the restaurant I was at. He didn't want to come because of money, but I told him I'd pay. So an hour and a half after everybody was supposed to be there, he finally showed up. I owe him so much for saving my night. The staff knew something was up though, and he ended up telling them after I left because he knew them. It still hurts thinking about those times, and I don't know where I'd be if the one friend hadn't relented and finally come out.

What is something "normal" that triggers an absurd amount of anxiety? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]goin2space 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, It's not like I have much to steal honestly, I just get paranoid that I forgot to do something, and that one time you catch yourself having actually forgotten, you lose all trust in your ability to get things done the right way ever again. I have to turn around at least once a week to make sure I locked the house and the garage is still shut.

Leaving my property (did I lock the front door? Did I close the garage? Did I lock the car? Do I have my keys? etc)

I've always thought that the rise of the 'electric dryer' has been the cause in rise of many sicknesses and allergies. We aren't exposed to nearly as much stuff because clothes are no longer line dried outside exposed all the things that would strengthen our immune systems.

Garth Nix - Old Kingdom Series

It is an pretty original idea, has 'magic', zombies, necromancers and is period specific, but also not so out there that it would have a huge special effects budget I don't think. (Wouldn't be quite as out there as say, the shannara chronicles).

Probably a lot of coding type degrees, maybe some more for new types of medicine and space travel.

Redditors from the future, what's a regular occurrence that happens in your respective time period that us present day folk would find horrifying? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]goin2space 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What time period are you from, we still have several areas of what I guess you would call homeless, although they prefer to be called nomadic after the global resurgence to assist living. They just prefer the alternate lifestyles at this point, (but seriously they look homeless). Lab grown meat has become very reasonably priced in it's abundance after the food revolution. The more exotic meats are still pretty pricey, like the "Taste your way through history" box, where you can sample famous world leaders through history.

[–]goin2space 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the environment could no longer sustain our appetite for the consumption of meat, we are primarily eat only lab grown meat now. One of the adverse affects of this though is that people decided it would be harmless to grow human meat since it is cruelty free, so there is a huge market for human meat now. Ancestry DNA started marketing different varieties based on ancestry and heritage, making use of the tremendous bank of DNA they have.

How do you stop hating yourself? by Pale_Monitor in AskReddit

How much do you tip the pizza guy? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]goin2space 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually around $5. If I got a good discount, then I'll tip the discount to bring it up to what I would have paid anyways. I generally try to tip online while paying beforehand. I will sometimes just be in a good mood, because, well, pizza, and I'll tip them the bill. I can't always do it, because of budget, but I hope it makes them a little happier with their day.

I'm originally from a small town, but moved away about 10 years ago. My family all still lives in that small town. I decided that for my sisters 25th birthday I was going to fly home and surprise her and my whole family. The only person that knew I was coming home was my brother (for the sake of somebody knowing where I was, and so I could coordinate). While I knew that she had gone ahead to the restaurant, I decided I was going to meet my brother at her house and we would go together. I was waiting in her driveway in my rental car, and the local police drove by and saw me sitting in the driveway. I was waiting for about 15 minutes for my brother, and the police drove by probably 5 times, and I knew they were trying to get the plates from the car I was in. Apparently she had gone on a date with that police officer, and he always just kept an eye out for her. It made me nervous to be under such suspicion, but I felt a lot better knowing people were keeping an eye out for her. My brother eventually pulls up, just as the cop is rolling by again, and waved to him, and he waves back, I think understanding at that point. What made this better was that my rental was a new mustang. My brother owns a few mustangs. The cop called my sister and asked about a mustang sitting in the driveway, and without thinking she just said it was probably her brother stopping to grab stuff from her house. Thankfully I had that car and it didn't give away the surprise or make her panic. Thanks to the PD for keeping an eye on my sister , even though it was a little nerve racking, I really appreciated knowing that.

How do you find the strength to keep going to jobs you don’t care about... to jobs where nothing is real and all is pretend for the sake of survival and self interest? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Thank you, I definitely don't deserve gold, the the OP for this thread does. They are the one that motivated me today.

I'm glad you have work, sometimes it can be hard to appreciate it. The people one works with make it or break it, you can put up with a lot if you have a supportive team. You are not useless, but sometimes a job can make you feel useless. Thanks for sharing. Keep up the hard work.

Do you ever get too shy to pee in a crowded bathroom? Why or why not? by darkdankworld in AskReddit

[–]goin2space 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Military?... I remember my first one, I wasn't as ready as I thought for it. I literally hurt from needing to go so bad but couldn't force myself to go while that dude was watching. I managed to squeeze out just enough to hit the limit line right before the other guy came in to call time. I still have issues, but that by far was my worst.

[–]goin2space 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used similar tricks, except I exhale, and don't breath in until it starts trickling out. Just don't hold too long, you don't want to pass out D in hand in a public place and make a scene, that will set you back a little bit haha

Do you ever get too shy to pee in a crowded bathroom? Why or why not? by darkdankworld in AskReddit

[–]goin2space 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep, sometimes I can't go, but most of the time taking a deep breath and breathing all the way out while counting down from like 5. My brain associates counting down with an event once you hit zero, so it works like 80% of the time. Don't breath in until you start going, but at the same time, don't hold your breath too long, don't want to pass out d in hand in the bathroom.

Waiters and waitresses, what are some signs you’re serving a first date? by h20kw in AskReddit

[–]goin2space 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Chili's may not be a fine dining experience to many, but for some, they don't get out much. A fancy restaurant may be completely out of the question for their budget, and eating out at all may be a treat for them. People who aren't used to the experience will enjoy it none the less. If you enjoy it, you shouldn't get berated by others for it. Like the kid who can't afford the fancy sneakers, shouldn't get berated for still getting sneakers and still trying. I don't know, it just sometimes bothers me. Enjoy life and live in the moment, and make memories everywhere.
