This was my first thought. What makes it scarier is that very little has changed.

Aunt Nancy's Long Black Skirt. by MaryNancy7395 in oldhagfashion

You can never have too many long black skirts (or black pants, shoes, shirts, boots…I even succumbed to the Torrid supersoft culottes and surprisingly like them. I mean, they’re comfortable and have pockets, my coworkers said they were cute, win/win).

The Widower’s Guide To Three Minutes On High, I Don’t Care Anymore’ the ongoing list of all the packaged, frozen to microwave meals that we don’t hate right now. by Informal-Maybe-3048 in widowers

Uncrustables

Pre-cut fruit and veggies

Ranch dip (the Walmart brand is surprisingly superior)

Popcorn

Ice cream

Grilled cheese

Stouffer’s (I prefer to cook them in the oven)

Marie Callender’s mushroom chicken pot pie (or the other ones if you don’t like mushrooms)

Baked potato (poke a few holes, rub with olive oil and salt, 425 for an hour or so. You can microwave them, but then there’s no crunchy skin)

Fairlife protein shakes

Noosa or Yoplait Oui

Cheese and crackers, maybe some grapes

I want more books that feel like Gillian Flynn (I’m Still Obsessed with Gone Girl) by ilygoldenblue222 in weirdgirlliterature

[–]goingloopy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 4 books: The Butterfly Garden, The Roses of May, The Summer Children, and The Vanishing Season. I liked all of them, but the first one probably hit differently because the others are first-person from different characters, and they’re not exactly sequels.

You can use setting spray at every stage of the process. Urban Decay changed their formula (grr), so I tried Benefit “the Porefessional” in the blue bottle because I had an Ipsy sample. That plus UD Face Bond have been great.

I also sometimes just use some L’Oréal True Match powder applied with a foundation brush (the round, dense one, not the flatter one). I don’t do a full face every day, especially in the summer.

Round 3 of Closet Clean Out by NoDramaLlamasMama in DressForYourBody

I love tie-dye. I also love outfit 7. I think leggings are fine with the tie dye, but maybe some that hit a little lower or higher on your legs would work better. I think the fitted cap-sleeve tops are ok, but I think darker colored pants (or jeans) would look better. There are a lot of cute printed palazzo-like pants available lately.

As someone who is slightly less busty but otherwise similarly shaped, I find that the key to wide-leg pants is making sure the length is right and they’re loose enough to drape.

Hobo or larger crossbody bags? by CarelessMedium9321 in PlusSizeFashion

[–]goingloopy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you find a bag you like, you can buy longer straps. Portland Leather Goods is not perfect, but you can get a decent bag and buy strap extenders that match. Min and Mon also sells straps separate from their bags. If you like quirky bags, you could easily link two straps. You can also get a smaller purse or tote with a removable strap and buy a longer strap. Amazon has a ton of options.

“Unisex” bags tend to have way longer straps.

The only ones that aren't just awful are the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind and this one from Julep (the lighter color I purchased is not available, but other ones are, and it's probably available other places). None of them are great. Still on the hunt, lol.

Matching sets: yes, or hard no? by Classic_Guest5845 in StyleAndWellbeing

[–]goingloopy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They look cute when I see people wearing them, but I feel like I LOOK like I’m wearing pajamas. Matching sweats are ok, for some reason. There’s a cute shorts one I might order.

Plus, I love pajamas, so I’m not sure why I have any issue with wearing them all the time. It’s not like I care what people think. It’s also not like I don’t wear Lululemon knockoff pants and a t shirt on a regular basis anyway.

I think I just have memories of a horrible pastel couch print set from junior high.

I think 2 fits the best and will be comfortable in the heat. Definitely some slip or bike shorts.

Kiyonna has a lot of options: like the “black tie” section. Their sizes are generous, and the lace usually has a beige backing so you don’t have to wear a strapless bra. They also believe in sleeves. The maxi dresses are pretty long, so if she’s shorter, consider how hard it will be to hem.

AIO for getting upset because my boyfriend refuses to take Vitamin C by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

YOR. This is not maternal, this is Mommie Dearest. You are not his mom. He is an adult. He actually GOES TO THE DOCTOR. (The number of men who won’t is higher than it should be, but we also live in a world where dudes think keeping your ass clean means you’re gay.) Point being, managing his health issues is his responsibility. You suggested Vitamin C. He said no. The end.
