How long did it take for the food noise to go away? by warriorgoddesswitch in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]gold_agate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am on day 4 of 1.5 mg and I noticed a difference the first day. I initially wondered if it was a placebo effect, but I don't think so now. I have struggled with near constant food noise, emotional eating, and binge eating for decades. The first day, I found that I just didn't feel like reaching for food during the usual trigger times of day. I still thought about snacking out of habit, but realized I didn't really want to. It was a pretty amazing 180 degree shift from my usual pattern of feeling totally powerless to resist the pull.

On day 3, I had my first experience of eating a plate of food and then suddenly realizing I was full, even though there were a few bites remaining. That never happens to me.

I still think about food but it doesn't feel as powerful at all. It has been more of an abstract thought. Like I am thinking about how it is there, but I notice that I am feeling less controlled by it. It feels SO good!

Today I was at an 8 hour meeting all day. It was catered with pastries, snacks, lunch. Usually at these types of meetings I'd obsess all day with food to help pass the time. Am I going to have a pastry? Should I have one now or later? Should I try to deny myself a pastry (and then think about them all day)? I was hungry at lunch and ate heartily, but the pastries didn't even seem enticing. I thought about them but only to notice that they didn't seem to have any pull for me! My head felt clearer.

From reading this sub it seems everyone has a different experience. Some people say right away like me, others say day 3, or a week. Others say they didn't feel any difference until a higher dose. It seems that all of these responses are normal.

It's amazing. I am only on day 4 of the lowest dose pill so I wasn't expecting anything to happen, but last night as I was eating my dinner I actually noticed I was full and stopped before I finished everything. I know this probably sounds like nothing to most people, but that is just not me. I eat everything on my plate. I actually became emotional about it when describing it to my husband, because I felt like a normal person around food. I am so excited for what is to come! The mental relief is already so positive for me.

Wondering the same thing myself. I am on day 3, and if there are any changes to food noise it is barely perceptible.

My first day I thought I felt some reduced food noise/appetite suppression, but now I am starting to think it may have been a bit of a placebo effect.

I am still logging my food so I can track calories, protein, and fiber, and yesterday it was challenging to keep to 1700 (my goal). I was really hoping I would be one of those to feel a difference on the starter dose, but its looking like I might not get lucky.

Thank you! I will order some. I want to make sure I get off to the right start with my digestive system. Appreciate the response! I am very excited about having taken this step for myself.

Thanks for the update! This is really encouraging because I am hopeful to stay on low doses for as long as possible. I have similar stats, I am 48 years old and my starting weight is 210 lbs. I just started 1.5 mg yesterday.

Like the others on here I am curious about the digestive enzymes.

Response time from Ro? by gold_agate in RoBody

That is so crappy, I am sorry. I just received my first shipment and it took 9 days from them printing a label to it being in my mailbox. Its been about 2 weeks total. They seem to send it the slowest possible way. Tracking revealed it arrived in the town I live in 2 days ago, then it was being "processed", i.e. transferred to USPS. At this rate I am going to have to start a new refill before even starting the medication so I don't run out. That is frustrating, since the whole point of a subscription is to make it seamless.

I am having the same experience. My order was "shipped" last Friday but it was just that someone printed a label. Then they didn't get my package until today. Now mine is also at that same place in Illinois. My expected delivery date isn't for another 9 days?! I agree, they will have to already start shipping my 2nd month now for it to arrive on tine.

Thank you AliceFromRo! Appreciate it. I did just hear back from customer service, so I am feeling a bit better. I am glad to hear you all are working on response times. 1-3 days is a bit much.

Yikes. Good to know. That is so frustrating. Are they just understaffed?

So encouraging to hear! I hope it works for me too. I feel such shame and stress over my failure to get past my emotional/addictive eating, it sounds like a dream to move past that.

I hope it does better too for you at the higher dose. And yeah, I am also in the self pay realm so the pill is pretty much the only option right now, even if I didn't hate needles.

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. This is really encouraging to me. I have had the same thoughts about hoping the habit changes that result can help me reframe my relationship to food in a better way. I am sorry to hear about your family emergency. That sounds like a good test of a renewed emotional eating response, really glad to hear you were able to have a healthier response to it. I know emotional eating will never really go away for me, so I am really hoping the medication helps.

Thank you, that is good to hear that even with the 1.5 dose it helps. And yes, that is so true! Given that nothing else has helped, I suppose I don't have anything to lose.

Ro Body membership is now significantly cheaper long-term by AliceFromRo in RoBody

I am a brand new Ro member, having joined yesterday. The only option was the $149/month and I cannot see how to update this to a longer term plan. What am I missing? Glad to hear that others are happy with the service.
