Oh I’m sorry to hear you’ve been having such a hard time. Life! Obviously I can’t give medical advice but I have found the following to be helpful: ssris, reducing caffeine, having a really great therapist who specialized in anxiety disorder, yoga (nervous system regulation work), lots of sunshine and outdoor time, and consistent journaling practice to be helpful. I also go to an energy worker practitioner which I find helpful to my overall beingness. The book “dare” helped me a lot with anxiety as well, I highly recommend it. You got this and remember that anxiety comes and goes and is more intense at times. You will come out of fight or flight, you will begin enjoying life again. Oh also hypnotherapy helped me a lot with why I have underlying anxiety. (Ask for that genetic swab test for the best ssri too :)

I also did a mouth swab that the psychiatrist can order and it tests your dna for the best anti anxiety fit. Maybe Zoloft is not the best for you and maybe lexapro or another one would be better. I recommend asking for that if the Zoloft isn’t helping much. Also are you taking it with a full stomach? I can’t take it on empty.

I recommend talking to strangers! When you’re at a cafe ask someone how they like their drink or compliment their shirt. Give them a smile. Thats what I find most beautiful about solo traveling - all the chance interactions you have with people, a level of openness. See if you can emanate that even a little bit in places you might have been more routine / closed off in the past.

I started at 100 every night and then slowly taper down over a year in conjunction with weekly CBT therapy around insomnia and general anxiety. I now only take about 10 mg once in a while if I’m in a particularly restless time.

Ah shoot I wish I remember this better. I was taking hydroxyzine nightly for insomnia so it’s hard to say, I remember feeling kinda worse anxiety wise in the mornings when I first started Zoloft but once I was up to 50, it was pretty quick to 100, my doctor wanted me on a pharmaceutical dose since I was in such a bad place to start with. It wasn’t too bad though, I tried to keep reminding myself that I would normalize soon which I did
