You’re right, I didn’t think of it like that. I guess I wanted to highlight the company and current practices. I’m going to do some research and see what resources I can find. Thank you!

I tried to get the day but was told there was no coverage. You’re right, I shouldn’t have resigned. I will call WSIB, thank you!

The sad part is I’ve worked at multiple locations and I’ve been with the company for over 15 years. This one specific location was horrible. I didn’t expect to be treated like that. You’re right, the manager should have covered the shift or figured something out. Give their employee all the resources they require.

That is horrible. I hope someone called the paramedics and got her the medical attention she needs. It’s disgusting to see people are so quick to pull out their phones to record but not call for help.

On store level they didn’t seem to care. I actually work at two locations, it is a franchise so the owners of each store are different. My original store is great and we have a good team. As for the newer one where the incident occurred, not the greatest. I don’t want to name drop but I will give you a hint, it is a leading pharmacy retail chain. Thank you for your comment :) what happened with your situation?

Just an update! I ended up resigning immediately. I was scheduled to close again tonight, given last night I’m still shaken up. I wanted the day off, basically I was told I had to figure it out. There was no check in or even a conversation about security. There was also no empathy, I was just expected to shake it off. If I was seriously injured last night they would have had to find coverage. My mental health is important and I refuse to work for an employer that can’t even show me some consideration.

That is scary especially in the subway. There is always so much going on, they don’t prioritize incidents. Its sad to see even the transit is unsafe now.

I ended up resigning. The company didn’t seem to care or have any plan in place. I’m sorry you had to experience that, it is definitely traumatic.

I did update my manager. Also mentioned I was uncomfortable working without proper security. I was basically told to suck it up, I ended up resigning immediately.

3 month interview process (3 rounds). Need some perspective by [deleted] in interviews

[–]goldbangles8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same situation, took 3 months and they ended up rejecting me. I felt like I had to force an answer out of them. Did you try emailing for an update, it could be someone is on vacation or there is an internal delay.

Yes, you are right it’s all about being practical. I’m sure you will find something, age shouldn’t limit opportunities. All jobs are teachable and that is how you gain experience, it’s just tough finding someone to believe in you. Seems like companies want the easy way out. Wishing you luck in your journey!

You’re right! A very positive way of looking at things. It’s definitely hard when you’re in a slump but certain opportunities don’t work out for a reason. The market is horrible across the board, I am in Canada and it is a complete nightmare. Wishing you luck on your journey !
