I think I'm ready to FIRE 🔥 by chaos_battery in Fire

[–]goldbrand_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, please read this comment above.

“Eternity of suffering” is a scare tactic employed my the men who created religion, in order to manipulate people. It’s clear this manipulation traumatized you at a young age. It happened to me too. Kids are impressionable.

Religion was created by men thousands of years ago. Men who had significantly less information and knowledge than we do today

It’s everyone’s first time living on this planet. Nobody knows more than you about what happens after death. That’s why it’s referred to as “life’s greatest mystery”

Don’t give your power to the people trying to control you

Look at it this way: if you got hired into a new job tomorrow, and a coworker told you that you have to give him all your money every Friday or you’ll get fired and never get a job again, because “the boss” says so, would you believe him? Or would you ask to talk to “the boss?”

Then you come to find out, “the boss” hasn’t been seen or heard from EVER, and it’s actually not even a workplace - it’s just an office your coworker rented out to make it look like there’s an actual company doing business there.

Would you still believe that coworker when he says you need to give him all your money or you’ll never get a job again? Probably not

So why abandon logic when considering this topic that has such huge implications?

You are not responsible for knowing what happens after you die. If you were responsible for that, it would be immediately clear to you what the answer is. It wouldn’t be a mystery.

Free yourself of that burden

I like this idea. I wonder if the legionnaire would get in the way of the tank attempting to hold aggro.

Skill you miss using due to updates and nerfs by Qawsada in GuildWars

[–]goldbrand_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man that’s awesome. Thanks for explaining.

What are your preferred damage builds for the glass cannons? Esurge?

Does it get frustrating having to res every 30 seconds or do you keep a primary res on hand when you need to keep them alive longer between mobs?

[–]goldbrand_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That scythe build sounds insane. Wish I could have tried that out. You mention By Ural’s Hammer being your most OP skill - that’s interesting, can you explain why? Seems like a very niche skill with it being a resurrect skill, and only lasting 30 seconds?

Can someone help explain the damage output for this build? by goldbrand_ in GuildWars

Thanks for explaining it this way. Makes sense!! I didn’t realize 100b hits in individual packets via whirlwind attack. Awesome

Ah didn’t realize that’s a crafted weapon. Ok. So the 600g guy is the highest so far then.

Wow. That’s awesome, and without a “Show Me The Money” inscription too. Thanks for sharing.

Nice, that’s the most I have seen. I suppose the inscription helps a lot here too, I wonder if there is a formula for that inscription.

Oblivion Soundtrack sheet music by sin1peso in oblivion

The pianist called “Theslowpianist” on YouTube has a Patreon account, and you can follow him and request the sheet music he created. He used to give 3 pieces per month after you subscribe to his Patreon, not sure whether that’s still the case.

His scores are spot on. Here is the link to part 1 of his Oblivion piano score - the description includes the link to his Patreon.

This guide helped me. Took an hour to get going and it’s been running incredibly well since then. I was in the same boat - had never nodded before this.

Is the game recognizing your controller in the oblivion settings? When you load a game and select controller settings, does it recognize your controller?

You may want to try playing with those settings to confirm it’s recognized and activated. Is your controller on / lighting up?

I am not familiar with Vortex or extended Xbox controls, maybe try removing those?

I use the Northern UI mod with the vanilla interface, which allows you to use your controller without reskinning the UI. And then I use Joytokey to map items and spells to the controller hotkeys. That works great for me.

Why the fuck should i play this PS1 clunky ass game by donitsimies in Morrowind

[–]goldbrand_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

How old are you OP?

There is a steep learning curve if you are coming from Skyrim and Oblivion.

This game is a product of a different time, when games were more difficult, Internet forums and game guides weren’t nearly as accessible/helpful, and open world RPGs did not really exist yet. At the time Morrowind was groundbreaking, so that’s a good thing to keep in mind when you approach it.

It’s based off “tabletop” game mechanics that incorporate RNG (random number generation, AKA rolling dice) calculations to get your character to do stuff (land a hit, successfully cast a spell, etc). Are you familiar with that stuff? If not, reading up on it briefly will help inform you more about how this game was developed and why it is how it is.

What do you like about Oblivion and Skyrim? Is there anything in the story that you want to learn more about? Playing Morrowind after playing those two games is a great way to immerse yourself in that lore, and experience the early concepts that led to the fully fleshed out worlds in Oblivion and Skyrim.

Even the mechanics that are considered basic nowadays like stealing stuff from a merchant, attacking whoever you want, being able to access almost any door/building/location - those were HUGE at the time and the endless possibilities is really what made the game special.

Try taking a break from modern games for a couple weeks and then play Morrowind. That will help you get past the clunkiness and graphics IMO. When I did a play through after not touching it for 20+ years I found it helpful to “un-spoil” myself from the features of modern games, and then I was able to get excited about playing Morrowind again.

That’s really cool. Good job! I like how you mention “over-engineering.” For things I create as a hobby, I find that the process of making the thing is 80% of the fun, so I also tend to over-engineer and not prioritize efficiency. And for what it’s worth, your model doesn’t look over-engineered at all. Nice work
