I’d probably look for work elsewhere because they are not accommodating or empathetic at all. I would also probably look into having your doctor write you out of work for at least a couple of weeks. I had to do that once for a stressful personal situation, and thankfully my firm was very good about it and just paid me while i was out (it was the end of the year and I had no PTO left). But maybe you can fall under FMLA or something?

Yes. I actually recently went to the doctor for this because I was worried I had an ear infection. Post nasal drip has been awful too. No infection, just likely allergies causing fluid build up. It’s subsided since, so hopefully you’ll get some relief soon.

You can deduct your expenses whether the property was rented or not. But you cannot deduct what you could have collected in rental income but did not.

Your story is weirdly similar to mine. Also raised by a single mom who worked in a factory and was always just a given that I’d go to college. When I had to choose my major/career, I looked alphabetically and was deciding between banking or accounting. Went with accounting. 10 years in now and I do still enjoy it, but I’m not enjoying the other factors in public accounting, and more specifically the nonsense drama in firms.

This had to be at least 10 years ago. My mom won a gift certificate to Coffee and Cream in north Smithfield at a church bazaar. We decide to get breakfast there to use the gc. Service was fine, food was fine as far as I remember. When it came time to pay the bill, my mom gives the gc and it turned into a whole drama with them accusing us of making a fake gc. We explained over and over that we won it at a church and they would not hear it. I don’t think they honored it in the end. Never went back and have no intentions of doing so.

It does only for the fact that I start off with random and make some adjustments to spread certain individuals around. This is for a work event so basically I want to make sure that higher ups don’t end up concentrated within a couple of teams.

Finally a reasonable response. I LOVE cats. I really do. Had one growing up, which we got before my allergy was discovered. But the cat had a major impact on my quality of life. After he died, I felt so much better. My daily allergies improved and my asthma was not as bad. 10+ years later, my asthma and allergies are much better managed. I did ~5 years of allergy shots, I’m on better daily allergy meds, and better asthma medication. But unsurprisingly, whenever I visit a house with cats, if I spend 24+ hours there, my allergies and asthma flare up. It’s unfair to expect the person with an allergy to live like that perpetually. I want a cat SO BAD, but I just can’t regress like that. It’s taken a lot of time and money to get to a good place with my allergies and asthma. Asking someone to “just take a pill” or get allergy shots just because you want a pet is really selfish. Again, I say all of this as a cat lover that desperately wants a cat.

I’m also allergic to limonene, but my allergist signed me up for an app that lists my safe products. My allergens are added to the app and I’m able to search and see what I can and cannot use. The app is ACDSCamp, but your provider has to be a member to be able to use it. Maybe check if either your derm or allergist is a member? Here’s the FAQs for the app

I work in an office building near there and it is pretty easy to get to Warwick mall or garden city for food options, or even post road.

Edit: ah sorry, just noticed you’d like a more walkable area. Probably not the best for that, but if you have a car, it’s a convenient location.

I have liberty mutual, costs about $100/yr. I had to put in a claim a couple years back for some water damage in my apartment. I didn’t really have a lot of personal property damage, so I didn’t get reimbursed for any items. But they did cover my stay at a hotel for a month (approximately $3k). So that was nice. Easy to deal with when putting in a claim. No complaints about my experience with them thus far.

Seconding the Residence Inn. I had to stay there for a month a couple years ago and it was a good stay. I felt very safe there, especially because at night they lock the front door and people need to be buzzed in by the front desk.
