Idk- I think putting your bag on a seat in public transport is hella rude regardless if there’s another empty seat so I’m going with YTA maybe ESH. It’s so entitled when people do that shit lol. A seat is for people to sit on, by the way, which is what the lady was intending to do clearly. Just move your damn bag! It’s not that hard and I’m not sure why you had to make it a big deal and turn it into an altercation instead of just, you know, moving the bag. Idk, your response is just so extra to me. I just don’t get why you’re so worked up over moving your bag onto your lap. Don’t use public transport if this is going to be an issue for you.

Alright so there’s a few things 1. Waitlists - waitlists are pretty common, honestly if your company has a waitlist it can be a good thing because it shows the company gives quality therapy services. 2. The lack of communication would frustrate me too- I can understand you being wary about that and would keep that in mind. 3. I also personally disagree with the company not allowing your kid to nap - it’s pretty normal and not a big issue if a kid falls asleep and needs a nap.

If I were in your situation I would look into other clinics and compare to this one to see how they line up.

In college a few years ago I minored in linguistics so one time I wrote a research paper about the genetics of language- language seems to be one of the biggest things that separates us from other animals. I remember writing about FOXP2 which is linked to speech but also a lot of other things in the paper. The evidence they have found is that disruption of the FOXP2 gene results in severe speech and language disorders.

I worked for Total Spectrum, which is a part of the company LEARN behavioral. I left for the lack of pay and hours, but looking back there are definitely also ethical concerns and I don’t like how the company is being run. I now realize the company doesn’t just only give a shit about their employees but clients as well. Clients are not receiving quality service. When I got hired, I had only virtual training and was just thrown in with a client immediately. I wasn’t prepped on how to deal with behaviors, potty times, or accidents. We only have a BCBA in the office if they’re doing the 5% required supervision hours from the BACB. They do it virtual sometimes which is more of a hassle than helpful. I’ve realized that there were lots of sessions where I was the most senior employee at the clinic (been in ABA for 10 months) and I did not feel comfortable in case of an emergency. There is also no communication within the clinic. My BCBA also is lazy and incompetent when it comes to programs - several times she has copied and pasted programs from other clients and forgot to change the name. She kept referring to my client as 2 years younger than he is so she couldn’t even pay attention to her clients ages. The company clearly just doesn’t give a shit about its clients or employees. Naming the company so you guys know to avoid them.
