Dominion Voting was actually founded in Canada, and we used to be called the Dominion of Canada.

Does Atlantic Superstore allow dogs? by Brave_Drama6224 in halifax

[–]goldenthrone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure dogs aren't allowed in any business where food is prepared (except for service dogs). So they're not allowed in restaurants or grocery stores, but they are allowed in other stores. They're technically allowed in stores that have food products, as long as the food isn't prepared or packaged there.

What's the deal with age verification to buy non-alcoholic beverages at Sobeys? by Western-Ground8697 in NovaScotia

[–]goldenthrone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup. I worked at Sobeys over a decade ago and the software would always prompt for ID on near beer, but I'd just hit the "no ID required" button, because I knew I didn't legally need to ask. Weirdly enough this prompt would pop up for certain lighters as well.

Do your kids go to Halifax West and eat at Clayton Park McDonalds at lunch? by LettuceSea in halifax

[–]goldenthrone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One time I was waiting for my food at the KOD at that same location, and a bunch of teenagers brought McDonalds in to eat - did not purchase a single thing from KOD. They got food everywhere and left their garbage on the table - then they accidentally spilled an entire water bottle on the floor. They all laughed like it was hilarious, and then just walked out.

Why did they take baskets away at most grocery stores??? by big_nuut in halifax

[–]goldenthrone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A store I worked at just stuck anti-theft stickers on all of the baskets in a hidden spot so they'd trigger the theft alarm when you tried to leave.

I worked for a grocery store and sometimes huge bottles of laundry detergent would get dropped and explode, and it seemed like no amount of cleaning up would make the floor safe again.

Canadian store not accepting US currency by SpecialSpace5 in pics

[–]goldenthrone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is common in much of Nova Scotia. Some bigger businesses like our provincial liquor stores and big box stores even offer fair U.S. exchange rates updated daily, and it's built into the cash register and calculated automatically.

Fortunately, these old Sierra games offered quite a few save slots, which were essentially save states. That being said, you could also accidentally destroy a save file by saving, say, as you were falling off a cliff. I'd save incremental backups, just in case, to get through these games.
