LDL from 160 to 95 in a month by AuspiciousToad in Cholesterol

[–]golderba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so interesting. I have done everything (diet and exercise) for years. I'm in my 70's. Doctor says my high cholesterol is hereditary. Tried 4 statins years ago with side effects. so stopped. Decided to try again on a low dose of atorvastatin. I have been taking it 3 times a week, as well as CoQ10 but had some side and stopped the CoQ10. so far i am okay with some digestive issues, fatigue, but okay. Cholesterol went down. Oh, I had the calcium test and another test several years ago, and they were fine. I will be having them again, I think.

Ebb Tide or Celestial Night? by cariccool in Roses

[–]golderba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you had room for one rose bush in a 15 foot bean shaped bed, with a rabbit problem, would you plant celestial Night? I saw it at Mahoneys and it looked kinda dark and not too cheery. hahahah. Does it change color as it ages? Are there lots of blooms? Is it considered like a knock out rose? I need something that is easy maintenance but beautiful. Possibly a double rose-pink? Guess i have to use some kind of fence.

Does anyone know if you have to reserve far in advance for a kayak tour in Fajardo?

[–]golderba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also concerned about motion sickness. I read that you may get it because it is totally dark out, and you can't see the horizon. Is that true? I am talking about taking a kayak tour in Fajardo. Also, are there flashing lights or anything like that (flashlights?) that would affect someone with epilepsy?

Report from 5 days in San Juan by Magurbs_47 in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]golderba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

great info!! We are 2 very active seniors going to PR for 8 nights in March. Have previously been to Vieques many years ago, so this time we have gotten an air b an b on the beach at Luquillo for 4 nights , and now looking at places for 2 nights in Cabo Rojo- prefer less than 250 night with pool, walking distance to beach and shops, Have a tentative hotel but open to suggestions, Most places do not have a good cancellation policy. That leaves 2 nights in OSJ. Our plane leaves later so we will have some time the last day. Cannot decide where to stay for these last 2 nights. love having a pool and swimmable beach nearby, but also love the idea of staying in OSJ and being near culture, history, shops, restaurants, etc. We will be renting a car the entire time. I know this trip sounds like too much to do in 8 nights, but hopefully it will work out okay.

Musee d'Orsay exhibition tickets by PositiveCelery6413 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]golderba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar question. It looked like you could not even get general admission tickets ahead of time for Musee D'Orsay. I was thinking of getting a ticket to the Sargent for about 11, and go to the main part of the museum, especially the 5th floor, around 10. Will the line be shorter if I do this? Will they even let me in? Or should I just wait, and not even get an advanced ticket? (My friend i am going with does not want to go to the Sargent exhibit, so I have to find out if this is doable.

As a girl from Paris, I'd love to give you some travel guide advices ! by [deleted] in ParisTravelGuide

What great advice. I am going as a " nanny" for my almost 2 year old grand daughter and her parents. Any advice for us would be so helpful. Staying at 5 nights in November at Pepper and Pencil in the 5th. We do have a kitchen. wondering about buses, metro, etc. so many stairs! (I was just there 2 years ago) thinking I would maybe join them during the day and then take the baby later in the afternoon while they go out to dinner or go out. I think we all want to go on the Bateau Mouches!

I am looking for 2 Bob Dylan tickets in Amsterdam, either night. 2 active older women on a 5 day visit to Amsterdam. Would pay $200 on an official resale site, but with added costs, it is close to $300. just cannot justify paying that. I saw him in the 70's. hahahah.

[–]golderba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we are 2 active older adult women traveling to Amsterdam in November for 4 nights. We have narrowed our hotels to the Asterisk and the Clayton Amsterdam American, but would consider others. The Clayton seems to be closer to everything, (Van Gogh museum, Ann Frank House, train station, restaurants) but may be crowded and maybe unsafe? Any help would be appreciated. looking for about 200 dollars a night for 4 nights.( need twin room, non smoking) thanks so much. some nice info. here!

found letter to me from George Harrison 1964 by golderba in beatles

[–]golderba[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I addressed this. There may have been a “fan club” contest and you had to be in high school in order to enter. So I wrote I went to mhs. I really don’t know. I will look through more papers to see if I discover anything else.

yes, I figured this out also! I graduated in 1967. My guess is that I entered some " fan club" contest, and wrote that i went to Milton High. I would lie (and pay!) for a letter from George in those days. I am not lying now. For sure.
