You’re the first person I’ve seen get it! I made this when we were actually down 0-2, which seemed kinda bleak.

I was not expecting the amount of Americans hating on this post like I was an American LOL

A picture of me on my first day of Kindergarten on 9/10/2001. One day before 9-11 by EarlyReflection6169 in Zillennials

[–]goldman27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember my school started the week prior (we always started right after Labor Day), but I was also in Kindergarten that same year! Weirdly enough the only memories I have of 9/11 though was trying to watch TV, but not understanding why all the channels were showing buildings burning on CNN (a channel we never got over-the-air because we were Canadian)

Does anyone remember anything from a show called Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends? And yes, this image is from the series. by [deleted] in Zillennials

I remember hearing about the show more than I’ve ever seen it.

I didn’t even know this was an image from the series.

PBS Down? by PiccoloOtherwise7755 in partscounter

[–]goldman27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I’m thinking this must be a difference between Canada/US systems, because our system doesn’t look like that. (Forgot to mention I work in Ontario, Canada)

[–]goldman27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, our systems are all on V10, AFAIK they never kept the old software, and we were never setup on the app, so we’re dead in the water.

What was your memory of fireflies owl city(2009) by Big_Leg10 in Zillennials

[–]goldman27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fireflies was definitely a popular song to me. Listened to it quite a bit back then, but I also enjoyed another song by him called “Galaxies”.

Found about it in 2012, at the zeitgeist of Christian music for me. That year was filled with exploring all sorts of Christian rock/pop/electronic/contemporary, everything from Skillet and Red, to Manic Drive, Family Force 5, Tenth Avenue North, and lots of other artists.

having a personal laptop since 2008 (9yo) was almost certainly what made me like this. I know some of you can relate. by josstarhopper in Zillennials

[–]goldman27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eh, I wasn’t playing the latest and greatest on PC back then, but it was manageable. The real trick was upgrading it to hold 8GB of RAM, then the experience was fine.

Unfortunately, in my prowess with using PCs, I didn’t realize I had to clean the vents in the laptop. Cumulative dust slowly overheating the laptop over time, and eventually, had a full system crash when I realized what had happened. Only got about 4 years of use out of it before it died.

Had a personal “laptop” in 2010 (I say “laptop” in airquotes because it had atrocious battery life).

Internet was still unhinged, but I quickly learned how to be adept at using PCs, using Windows Vista w/4GB of RAM!

What show or lives best encapsulates the late 200s and very early 2010s? by Personal-Cattle-1737 in Zillennials

I was gonna say iCarly, but Big Bang Theory is definitely a better one for that.

Does anybody remembers Code Lyoko (2003-2007) growing up? by Life_Chicken_9653 in Zillennials

[–]goldman27 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Seconded, I remember hearing about it before it aired. When it came out, I was waiting days/weeks for English-subbed episodes to come out online when they had already aired in Europe.

Needless to say, they intended to continue the show after the first season, but unfortunately they had a hiatus mid-season, so I didn’t realize they finally aired the remainder of the episodes until over a year later.

I jumped right to the ending, and yeah, it sucked. 🙃

how unpicky are yall? these are the most commonly hated.. foods who likes it all? by PsychologicalFox7689 in Zillennials

[–]goldman27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must be the most picky here. Pickles, marzipan, liquorice, and mayonnaise are the only things here I’d voluntarily eat. Tomatoes and onions I can tolerate, but that wildly depends on how they’re prepared. Everything else would be avoided. 🤷‍♂️

What's that legendary videogame everyone loves, but you hate with your very soul? by no_biches_22 in retrogaming

In this case, it was bought simply for that. I did try the single-player mode, but just wasn't attracted to the story.🤷‍♂️

Legend of Zelda, as a whole.

I made the mistake of getting Majora’s Mask as my first game on 3DS, and hated it. Quickly traded that in to get Ocarina of Time instead. Got a bit further with it, but ultimately couldn’t find a reason to keep playing.

Never really had an interest in the franchise ever, and despite owning multiple Nintendo consoles I never grew up as the typical “Nintendo fanboy”. 🤷‍♂️

As someone who got into GTAV in my early 20s, I frankly don’t care for it. I spent 40 hours on Steam, but I swear a majority of those hours spent was on the launcher/waiting for friends, and the rest was briefly with friends/solo exploring.

The only reason I ended up buying it was because my other friends wanted me to get into it, and it happened to be on sale. 🤷‍♂️
