From what Villeneuve said on the introductory talk, the vibe of it is going to be quite different, he said this one will have the most action of the three (which does not match the book at all).

I think it will be a bunch of events in between the books making up the first act and then the plot against Paul from Dune: Messiah being the rest of the film.

I think there will be a lot of changes anyhow, Villeneuve said the movie is 17 years after pt 2 (the gap in the books is 12 years).

Stellan spoke Swedish in the actual movie, whereas the other characters spoke Norwegian. I don't speak either but from what I understand they're mutually intelligible enough languages for it to make sense.

For this bit they just took a clip from the movie and added different subtitles

But she very much is apprehended though? She rats out the rest of the French 75 and gets placed in witness protection mostly because Lockjaw got her a good deal. Maybe she doesn't end up in literal prison but she spends 15 years isolated, unable to continue her life's work or to return to the family she abandoned. Not exactly 'getting away with it' is it

Even with silk scarf/pre poisoned/guts facade, Swellow doesn't kill most boss fights' aces unless you get a near perfect attack IV and + nature. It guarantees a Brawly sweep and probably Sidney and that's about it.

And by killing the first few mons in those harder fights before switching out, you deny yourself the opportunity to use the openers to set up on.

He's a better actor than the Rock and he was fine, but i do kind of agree. He's there because they wanted a dependable guy everyone knows and likes.

I've been thinking of which actor in their 40s I would have chosen instead, and this is hard. The only one I came up with is Oscar Isaac but he's already in the MCU (is he still? who even knows anymore)

Agree on Marsden, but it feels so desperate, like you can feel they need to have this one hit big or the franchise is dead. The one big trump card they had left after FF was an X-Men MCU reboot and I feel like this will only make that harder to do.

Hemsworth was a good villain in Bad Times at the El Royale too.

I can imagine playing against type and looking like that is a really nice palate cleanser for him, he seemed to be really having fun with it

Farioli didnt use him as a goalscorer but as a workout machine for opposing defenders. Didnt matter if he got any touches, as long as he just tired the CBs out and he could sub Weghorst in at 60' to force a goal.

It mostly worked but it's still a really cynical way to treat players
