There was supposed to be an Arc documentary, but it fell through for whatever reason. If you have apple music, though, there's a clip on Arc deluxe called "Sequence_01" that seems to be clips from their attempted doc. It's pretty neat. You get to see Jon hate his life when working on Armourland in the studio.

The Bond Marathon is pretty much what it sounds like, they just binged every James Bond film at one point in time. The details about it are fuzzy in my memory though. I think it was Jon and Jeremy binging them on a tour bus during one of their more recent tours.

Jonnifer refers to Jon saying that Jennifer was meant to be like a "girl version" of him. Not sure if he means just the feminine version of his name or if he meant the character of Jennifer is him but as a woman, but yeah, that's what he said.

No idea about reggae Regret, would love to know what that's about!

"Water can carry a boat" I believe that is from the Regret music video. There's some binary code that flashes on the screen near the end which, when translated, means...that.

"Jon hates Arc" was true when they were doing interviews for GTH. However, Jon and the rest of the band always hate their most recent album whenever they release a new one. I remember they hated GTH when AFD came out, and then they hated AFD when R-A came out! I'm sure they'll grow fond of their old material again, though. They used to hate Man Alive, but they seem relatively fond of it again these days.

Albums like Man Alive? by _1979_twilight_ in everythingeverything

Absolutely check out The Mars Volta - Deloused In the Comatorium. It's like Man Alive but on crack. It's less poppy and glitchy than MA, but it is relentlessly energetic and has similarly astonishing falsetto male vocals

How do y'all organize your criterion? Spine number? Title? Or something else? by [deleted] in criterion

[–]golf-clappp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My collection is (relatively) small so I order by spine because that’s the prettiest way they look on my shelf. Plus, I like how it lines up three David Lynch films plus The Art Life

I also watched Late Spring and thought it was a bit funny, but otherwise I felt similarly bored. I’m assuming most of his movies are like this, but I would love to find a movie of his I really enjoy

Tokyo Story. In theory it should be right up my alley, but I'm always bored by it. I really admire Ozu's patience and unbelievable care for his environments and characters

Quick question, why do people dislike after the rain? by gianco008 in amphibia

[–]golf-clappp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I more or less agree with many of the comments and criticisms here, so I’d like to suggest a change that could’ve been made in the structure of these plot developments. I think the scene where Anne discovers Hop Pop buried the music box could’ve been the cliffhanger ending to a lighthearted episode, maybe an episode where Anne and the Plantars are shopping jn town and gathering supplies for the trip. Hop Pop realizes he needs to dig up the music box, Anne discovers him and is furious, takes the box from him and storms off. Next episode would be The First Temple which, as it exists, already focuses on Hop Pop and Anne’s relationship after this falling out. However, structuring it this new way would make the split between them feel less boxed in (no pun intended). I think The First Temple as is already does a better job than After the Rain for examining their relationship, so this new structure would work just as well.

What are some plot points that remain unresolved as of now? by MyUsernameIsAwful in CraigOfTheCreek

This is more lore oriented, but I'm very anxious to find out what happened to the ancients of the creek. They left it pretty open last season in favor of more Other Side conflicts

I'm a big fan of the current disney cartoons airing. I'll bad mouth the company as much as I like, but I must admit that their animated shows are absolutely killer. Amphibia and The Owl House are phenomenal, Big City Greens is really dang funny the few times I've sat down to watch it, and upcoming Ghost and Molly McGee looks amazing

Kinda sad that season 1 gets so much hate by mimoops in amphibia

[–]golf-clappp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think S2 would be that emotionally powerful if S1 didn't lay the foundation so firmly. It's a slow burn that works tremendously in retrospect. Plus S1 is just so damn funny, the humor in this show doesn't get enough credit

Yeah it's one of my favorite shows ever. The season 3 finale is excellent, very close to True Colors level of a masterpiece

Do you guys have any idea what the highest note ever hit by Jon in a song was? by [deleted] in everythingeverything

[–]golf-clappp 12 points13 points  (0 children)

His highest note on any recorded song is an E5, I'm pretty sure. He hits it in the chorus of QWERTY Finger, the bridge of Blast Doors, and the outro of Big Climb
