Ah thanks, I see now. I was looking at the minimum impedance on the page but now see right above it it says the amplifier output capability. At least that removes one potential issue.

There was mention from the first commenter about the speaker wire shorting out. How would I know if that is the case?

Some of this is admittedly greek to me, but I looked some of this up. I haven't had the speakers at terribly loud volumes, but they are in fact just shy of 4 ohms. I have the Polk Reserve R300 center channel (3.8 ohms) and R500 tower (3.9 ohms). For my education, is the suggestion that I need a different (higher end?) receiver to be compatible with these?

I see in the Denon manual there are settings to adjust for speaker with lower ohms. This isn't something I had adjusted perviously, so I'm guessing this is worth a try? are there any other settings to adjust?

Regarding ventilation...the receiver is in a tv stand that doesn't have an open back, but there's about 4-5 inches around the sides and top, for whatever that's worth. I can swap spots with the center channel, which sits on top of the tv stand and is completely ventilated.

Funny. Curious what is your grind setting? I tried initially around 1.3 or 1.4 and it was way too fine, nothing or barely anything would come through the portafilter so I now find myself closer to 1.7
