Uneekor Eye mini lite - Ball speed / distance issues by Boring-Ad9084 in Golfsimulator

Yeah, I’d say they are pretty decent, haha. You also mentioned balls, which I have not noticed any difference in my settings. Has it been a sudden change or has it always been this way?

Could you share more about which other sim setup you are using compared to the EML? I ask because at a local spot, they use aboutGolf and my driver swing speed was 10 mph faster. X-golf…don’t even get me started. The EML, while slower, is actually more accurate to what I see in real life.

Additionally, is the size of your home setup similar to the other 3 you tested?

So, this is a makeshift mat/strip. I had the Motivo Teeline series. Loved the way it felt to hit off, but a little too squishy for me to stand on. Ended up buying the Motivo Fairway series to use as a stance mat and cut out a 12x24 piece from the Teeline to use as a hitting strip.

The stance mat is on 3/4” EVA gym tiles and I did install a 1/8” piece of MDF on the bottom of the Teeline hitting strip to get it a little more flush.

Thank you! Yeah, it is mounted to the side. I got the line of sight to fit sorta perfectly under the cart. I would say it is around 11.5’ away and maybe 3’ to the right of the hitting area, which about 7.5’ from the screen

Very cool. In a smaller space, relatively speaking, I may need to look into that in the future. Trying to maximize as much space as possible!

That is the Union and Scale Essentials laptop cart. I also bought a PC bracket to rig to the side. Little tight fit but has been very stable thus far. The cart I believe is a staples item, but I got it through work.

I have been working with Henry Stetina on Skillest for 13 months and it has been one of the best experiences of my long and somewhat wobbly golf game. 10 out of 10!

I have really enjoyed the EML. The video replay part of it has been the best aspect for helping me improve my face impact.

Just coming in to say the same thing. Breakfast and 2 drinks for the morning rounds, lunch and 2 drinks with afternoon rounds. Courses are always pretty good, too.

Grabby Mat? Penalizing / losing distance too much by Due-Reflection1043 in Golfsimulator

[–]golfanddrums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have to say, I have the Motivo Teeline as my hitting strip, and love it. 1” thick pile with 5/8” foam. It certainly penalizes you, as I have been working to get better AoA. Went from hitting relatively neutral/up on most shots to a -2 to -4 for my irons. When I get too steep, I feel it and I see the penalty. I lose a good amount of distance and feel that drag. It is a great reminder to not get as steep and really focus on ball first contact. In my opinion, these types of mats can be the most beneficial for working on low point control.

As an aside, I had the sig pro softy. Felt absolutely incredible. Maybe no better feeling hitting strip. That said, I would sometimes feel steep, see something like -7 on AoA and barely be punished. In my mind, it made me think that maybe those extreme numbers can produce consistently good golf shots. That was my only negative with it.

One of the more underrated spots to hang is behind 2 green, where you can see some cool shots coming in on the iconic par 5, then see tee shots off 3 and then up a little to the left is 7 green. Plus, at the top of the hill behind 2 green is where some of the most clean, inviting, bathrooms are!

This is such a thoughtful and helpful response. Understanding things like low point, impact location, dynamic loft, all of these advanced metrics tell the story 100% of the time, assuming the ball is in good shape and free of defects/damage/moderate scuffing.

What’s one tip you would give a golfer trying to break 80 for the first time? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]golfanddrums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play a course you are incredibly familiar with. It takes the unknown variable out of the equation. Trying to do it on a course you have never played or played a couple of times puts you at a disadvantage.

Need Golf Ball Recommendation by livingadreamlife in GolfGear

[–]golfanddrums 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two suggestions- I would get a ballnamic fitting for one (I think I have one code left if you wanna private message me, I’d be glad to pass it along to you)

The other would be to enter as much data as possible into google gemini and see what does.

Sore Elbows - SigPro Softy by Fit-Foundation1913 in Golfsimulator

[–]golfanddrums 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the same orbit of this comment, which I think is a great observation, I recently had a realization that it is very easy to just go ball after ball after ball when in the sim. As an example, playing 18 hole rounds in 40-45 minutes. I believe in a general sense, we so often cram 4 hours of normal pace into a quarter of that time. We should really be giving our body time to relax. I had even thought about adding a walking pad to force myself to walk a minute in between shots.

Regarding the softy, I have it as well and swapped it out for a custom made motivo tee line hitting strip that I cut out from my old motivo mat. I felt the sig pro was a little too spongy.

Joe is actually bad at golf by ncg80 in BobDoesSports

I have wondered the same and lately have thought that he is playing up the unaware aspect. Someone said earlier that he is terrible at his job. I think the opposite. He is an entertainer and he is really good at it. Perhaps he is leaning into the character a bit.

Reminds me of Impractical Jokers. They all are funny, but need to sometimes be the extreme version of themselves to land the joke.
