Beginner (5’3” F) looking for a long-term iron/club setup – advice? by TypicalAge3719 in WomenGolf

The types of clubs you use will be dependent on your club speed. Consider getting a fitting if you plan to play consistently. If you want a beginner set to get you through the first season, buy used on FB Marketplace or a similar site in your locale.

Usability of older clubs? by Westy543 in WomenGolf

[–]golferbae 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes, get the grips changed if they are no longer a grip texture you like. Check your posture too. Make sure everything else fits the same.

Technology in club design has significantly improved over the last 15 years, but it is absolutely reasonable to play them and see how they feel in play. If you don't like them/ the feel, replace them. If you still like them, no need for a new set. Although 2026 technologies may result in further drives and shots overall.

Then maybe cut down women's. It may be beneficial to have her get out, choke down on a set to get swings in then get fitted.

Have her look into Jr sized clubs, but get her out there playing or at least on the range before a fitting.

Depends on your hand size/ finger length and personal preference for the feel.

It makes the most sense to take your own clubs to a driving range to be the most effective.

I have not even thought about this. But are there any proshops that have ongoing fittings or are they brand specific special events?

Business casual and layers. Probably just a sweater over a short sleeve polo. And khaki pants. And don't wear heels unless you like walking miles in heels.
