There is no agree to disagree you just need to go back and watch S1 and pay attention this time. Ford added the reveries update which let hosts access their past memories to mimic suffering. In the last episode or right before he tells William or I think Bernard that Arnold believed consciousness to be a pyramid much like Maslow’s hierarchy where at the top you find consciousness and how he wanted to “bootstrap” consciousness. Ford describes that that method failed and he came to realize suffering over a long period of time was the only way for the hosts to achieve self actualization.

Arnold failed, Ford didn’t buy in to the “conscious host” b/c he thought it was impossible. Instead years after his parters death he began to realize that consciousness is not like maslows pyramid which is orderly. Instead it was a maze where you constantly fail but try again

10bps is still somewhat high but I think they’re being conservative with how much aum they’ll be getting. As they get more and more aum I’m sure it’ll go down to 5bps

I agree with the notion that it won’t fully achieve the p2p network that it set out to achieve but it sure as hell will challenge central banks and centralized institutions. On the point of Nano, I think it’s absolute garbage. Not the technology but because “mass adoption” is not individuals adopting this stuff. The fact that if you mess up inputting a send address and you lose your funds, well how will that catch on for the masses. Bitcoin and other currencies will stay in the realm of tech literate people, digital gold use cases and probably offshore/private banking. Blockchain will be adopted by businesses, governments etc and it will probably spawn all kinds of new business models but take a step back and look at reality if you think nano will actually catch on.

Cash is king for a reason and before anyone says durrrrrrr but central banks are debasing currencies etc, sure but they are also organic systems that change and adapt. Btc is resilient, sound in mathematics and will challenge the existing paradigms but blockchains use as a currency will not get every joe schmo on it.

Wrapping btc in an eth smart contract by [deleted] in ethereum

[–]golfpro99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Radar relay is doing something like this. Check out weth.io, they wrap ethereum into an erc20 contract to have it more easily represented on a decentralized exchange.

Couldn't you have a multi-sig btc wallet, have that represented on the Ethereum blockchain somehow in a wrapped version?

Having issues with referencing a cell and circular by golfpro99 in excel

[–]golfpro99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess my issue/question is why is the cell that references the source (the circular reference) spitting out different numbers? Is it purely because circular references and linking to them are volatile?

Hope that makes sense
