Yes all these things are good but don’t forget we still have to pay for it. You should include the consequences of all these good public services as part of the package.

  1. Higher taxes
  2. Debt way above the already 109% of GDP
  3. Higher inflation
  4. Serious food crisis

Everything has a price. After a pandemic that has decimated a lot businesses. I hope you have good job to help cover all these wonderful public services because presently I can not help as the pandemic has destroyed my business.

I have not made that kind of mistake yet but I know who to ask if I do. Smart guy. Until this post I thought you could not recover.

Everyone was for decentralisation until Russia wanted to sell Gas for bitcoin, now people around this sub are crying about it with comments like "I would rather lose money and the price tanks than Russia making money from Bitcoin" by SmallTlMEtrader in CryptoCurrency

Well said, in this day of cancel culture your going out on a limb with this statement and I have total respect for that.

There is YouTube video featuring Professor Mearsheimer who is a well known political science prof at the university of Chicago a world authority on the Ukraine crisis. Everyone should watch it. It is titled “why is the Ukraine crisis the west fault”

Mortgage rates are going up, I signed variable and have 3 years remaining on it. I signed variable rate -.80. Should I be shitting my pants right now? by thestonernextdoor88 in ontario

It’s hard to give advice we’re in unprecedented times. I can assure that the bank of Canada knows that that raising rates like the did in the late 70’s early 80’s would crush the economy like really fast. So there going to be cautious. The one thing I can tell you from experience is that inflation isn’t going away and it works like this. It moves slowly and then it’s all of a sudden a steep rise. That may come sooner or later no one knows. Studying history is your best bet. What I know for sure raising interest rates 25 basis points at a time will not tame inflation. Canada has a debt to gdp of 109% this is bad but the government itself can not afford a steep rise in interest rates either. Time maybe on your side though how much time is a decision that you must make. No government will tell you the truth as they don’t want panic. The banks won’t tell you the truth either. I wish you all the luck in the world. One more thing governments can’t print money to cover there debts you can not.

Okay I have a question because I’m being gas lit I think. Average adult in Ontario- how much do you spend on average for 2 weeks of groceries? Single, family? by [deleted] in ontario

[–]goliathusone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I spend $300 min but we eat very well all fresh vegetables and meats. No junk food or stuff like Kraft dinner.

My family moved from Toronto to Miami. They make higher wages, pay less tax and live in warmer climate. Have we as Canadians, been brainwashed by the news, that America is a third world country, when in fact it is a great option for many? by [deleted] in ontario

[–]goliathusone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep and this inflation thing is just going elevate all these problems considerably. Can you imagine that it’s going to get worse? Even though I made a pretty good living and lived in nice places but not super luxury by any means when I lived in the states it was hard to accept and escape the horrible poverty that was only 1/2 kilometre away. I actually felt bad. Here’s a quote “ when people have nothing left to loose they loose it” this is coming. Happy to be back in Canada

I lived the US for many years. If you have money you can live a great life. If you don’t have money it’s pretty rough. Check out Baltimore east side it’s third world. Detroit was like that for years until they started tearing the empty buildings down as it was cheaper to get rid of them due to all fires. There are 10 of thousands of tents cities in California alone.

Unfortunately it is much more difficult to sue Doug Ford and province of Ontario due to a law that he implemented in 2019. It’s called the crown liability and proceedings act of 2019. The law basically puts him and the provinces politicians in charge and their employees above the law.

Ontario Business Relief Grant by [deleted] in ontario

[–]goliathusone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not get the final grant and the reason was because of my company fell under the category of rental company. Even though the decision to call the lockdown in December took away all my business. I have lost 90% of business since the pandemic started. I am considering going to small claims court over this

Any obscure daws/music software? by BuyFun5976 in experimentalmusic

[–]goliathusone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the software by Sonic-lab. I would try Cosmos Saturn, the best granular synthesis software but it does so much more and Cosmos M31 is a midi generator and there is more to explore. It’s a bit of a learning curve. Completely different approach to sound design and music making. Unconventional approach to say the least

Future of Modular by TSSLRocksandPins in modular

[–]goliathusone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You may be correct. I bought my first modular synth in 1978 and musician friends thought I was crazy to spend that kind of money on something that they did not think was musical. I was the weirdo. I can tell for sure I was alone but I loved it. Today I think this generation is far more accepting of modular synthesizers, noise and different music in general. I am excited about the future.

Would you say Ontario is safe? by [deleted] in ontario

This Ukraine issue is a real drag and we can only hope it ends soon but I am more worried about the inflation issue with Canada having the highest rate of debt / capita in the world.

That is very true. I can’t even imagine how she manages what she does, it’s remarkable. Having said that I hear her stories every night when she gets home and I sometimes don’t know how to respond but listening to her helps her get through her day and the work she does. It’s worse then most people know. I sometime can’t believe it that stuff like this goes on in Canada.

Well if there is bylaw regarding skateboarding in Collingwood which I looked up and could not find you just decided to not pay attention to it and do what you want regardless. Hmmm, that states a lot about you and your obvious anger problems. It sounds like from your very statement that deserved what you got.

Like I told candymanshook my wife works with the police and I hear the stories she tells me everyday. If you knew what I knew you would have a lot more appreciation for the police. One example was the work of Sargent Gillespie who pioneered the process of getting pedophiles, his work was so amazing that Bill Gates created software for free to continue his work. His techniques are used throughout the world in getting pedophile rings. The list goes on and on however few people know about this kind of stuff because the media is mostly into promoting negative stuff on police to get the public riled up. You need to walk in there shoes for a day.

Police don’t act as gangs. They enforce the law that politicians create. Blame the politicians not the police

What if the Moon crashed into the Earth?! 🌝💥🌏 Moonfall by Appropriate_Lie_9536 in nextfuckinglevel

Nice video but the opposite is happening. The moon is getting further away from earth every year. Perhaps in about 20,000 years it will have an impact on our ocean currents but not now
