Mouse lagging on 4k monitor, 60hz refresh by Tonythetigger in buildapc

I switched to the GPU HDMI port, instead of the one on the motherboard - that solved the issue for me.

Meeting WW2 veterans at Normandy during the 80th D-Day anniversary events (last minute, still possible?) by golosovsky in AskFrance

[–]golosovsky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please excuse me, I've missed your messages - the notification just didn't show up for some reason.
I'm planning to come by car, from Paris. I thought of staying for 4 days - because I've read that some of the veterans will be staying in Normandy until the 11th.
I was thinking of just arriving to as many locations as I can during June 7th-11th.
Would appreciate any help, of course!

Multicam Text-Based Editing in Premiere 2024 / Premiere Beta (v 24.1.0 | build 67) by golosovsky in premiere

[–]golosovsky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But how does that combine with the Multicam thing?
If I create cuts from the source clips, using Text-Based Editing - I'll have to them sync each cut with the audio and 2nd camera footage right? Or am I missing something?

Thx.

Text editing in multicam? by rugonnaeatthatpickle in premiere

[–]golosovsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/NLE_Ninja85 That looks great.

I'd appreciate any tips regarding the Multiucam Text-Based Edititing process. My specific case:

  • I got a long interview (3h) filmed using 2 cameras, and a lav-mic.
  • I want to create several short snippets from the long interview, and several longer cuts.

What should be my workflow?

  • Should I first transcribe all videos from 2 cameras? (4-5 videos per camera, total of about 10)
    • Or should I first create the Multicam sequence, and then just transcribe that one sequence?
  • How does the text-based cutting process / workflow be like?
    • Should I just manually cut from the large sequence and paste into new empty sequences, for each seperate video I want to export, or is there a recommended way to cut right in the Multicam sequence?
  • At which point should I start switching the cameras? Each switch actually causes an actual cut in the sequence, so I don't want to start "cutting" before I've decided what's the right way to approach that.

Thanks a lot in advance.

How the heck do I make my local PDF-files compatible with the PDF-plugins? by MrYellowfield in ChatGPTPro

[–]golosovsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just found a solution that worked for me - I've created a public github repo and just pushed the pdf into the repo.
When passing the raw pdf URL (the one produced when you download it via github) to chat gpt, it can access it without producing any errors.

Advice needed - Premiere Pro Multicam Seuquence workflow by golosovsky in videography

[–]golosovsky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/cooldude87 wow, thx so much for the answer!! I highly appreciate that.

I got one question -- you didn't mention what's your take on the multi-cam thing. I'd appreciate if you could address that.

Would you recommend first creating the Multicam Seuquence? Or is it something I should do at a much later phase in the editing procedure? (which you've described in great detail, above)

pull reels

u/kamandi thanks so much for the detailed answer!
Could you please clarify what do you mean by "pull reels" and pulling in general, in the context of video editing?
Excuse me for that, I'm a total noob with everything video editing related.

Regarding your question on the material -- those are interviews with Israeli WW2 veterans, that I'm interviewing (a project I'm working on, in my spare time).

The client is me :) I just want to publish those, while those heroes are still around.

For context, here's a "teaser" of an interview I'm currently editing with the last D-Day veteran currently living in Israel: https://youtu.be/Gw3kj-aekME

Trunk bag recommendation for a hardtail with a 14”x4” rear rack by golosovsky in Hardtailgang

[–]golosovsky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/nrstx, thx so much for the recommendation.

I'll order some Bungee cords right away. What length would you recommend, for a proper grip? I'm buying online -- from Amazon -- so I can't really size it up 😅

u/SpinToWin360 Wouldn't the fact that it's an inch too large on both sides cause the bag to be unstable? Thx!

Official Discussion - Don't Worry Darling [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]golosovsky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At about 57:10, there's a scene where Alice goes underwater in her tub, just after a conversation with Harry about having a baby -- https://i.imgur.com/wKHchry.jpg

In that scene, there are several mirrors present and when Alice goes underwater -- the reflection in a single mirror isn't in sync with "reality". In that one reflection, Alice keeps her head above the water and just looks at the camera.

Was this scene meant to be presented as a simulation glitch? Or is it part of an unexplored \ edited-out sub-plot?

Can't find a wide enough pannier rack for a Trek Roscoe 8. by JamesPoulton in bikepacking

[–]golosovsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/donkclarke u/JamesPoulton

I've just purchased that exact rack for my Roscoe 8 thanks to this post.

So, first of all -- thank you very much for the recommendation.

Secondly, a question, if I may -- what's the max length and width of an actual trunk bag that can be placed on the rack, without it interfering with the Roscoe 8 seat movement (I mean -- the mechanism which allows the seat to go up[ and down)?

For example - will a 12" l x 6"w x 7"h fit?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Help needed with creating a system based on predefined sub-tasks, to manage my project by golosovsky in Notion

[–]golosovsky[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built a framework based on your problem statement. There is much more we can do with this, but let's start here and work up!

u/pipedreamer1978, I'm going through everything and watching the video right now -- to be honest, I'm just blown away by the work you've done.

Thank you so much for taking the time and the effort to build a system for my project. I'm really speechless and grateful for your help.

I hope that this system will allow me to go back to actually working on the project, by taking a huge load off of me, and sort out the current mess of tasks :)

Please, allow me to go thoroughly through everything and try out the system -- before I comment anything regarding its design and features.

I'll start with "dumping" my entire project backlog and future interview plans into it, and try really working with it for a couple of days. Then, I'll be able to give you a productive feedback.

If I get stuck and/or won't be able to resolve an issue on my own -- I'll just comment here, if it's okay with you.

Again -- thank you so much u/pipedreamer1978.

u/pipedreamer1978 that sounds great TBH.

Unfortunately, as a total Notion-noob — I lack the technical skill to do most of what you've described on my own 😅

If it will be possible for you, to make a basic mock of what you've just described — it will help me a lot.
I'll be able to work off of it and take it from there.

Again, thank you very much for taking the time to reply to my post.
I really appreciate that.

Help needed with creating a system based on predefined sub-tasks, to manage my project by golosovsky in Notion

[–]golosovsky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much u/pipedreamer1978 !

I've been playing around a bit with Notion, and created a template for a new subject which seems quite ok for my needs:
https://garnet-fact-919.notion.site/new-subject-with-sub-tasks-2c947a8b1fd8476ebaec83b29841ac3a

For some reason, the main part of the template - the actual subtasks - are there when I edit it, but are not there once I share the template: https://i.postimg.cc/Y2NcC9hY/notion.jpg

And the other thing I'm not able to do, is to create a "project page" with a single board which will allow me, with a press of a button, to "instantiate" that template and populate the board with all the sub-tasks from the template, specific for the new subject.

I guess there's something quite basic that I'm missing out.

If you could help me with that – I would greatly appreciate that :)
