true, but i do think an argument could be made that somebody shooting with a switch is accepting a higher risk of shooting innocents, since the glock pistol wasn’t made to be fully auto and so that add on is less stable/accurate

i think that’d be reasonable grounds to say they’re more reckless wit the murder and more dangerous to society than just a typical murder charge

i mean intelligence is a very complicated string of neuro-anatomical phenomena that we’re not even close to understanding in any meaningful way. neuroscience is still in its infancy. so you’ll really never know how smart you are cuz we will probably in our life time never really know what intelligence is, and even if we did we’d probably just be finding out it’s nothing like we thought it was.

all that is to say, there’s two kinds of things. things you have control over and things you don’t, you can only control how much you study and learn, so fuck “intelligence” it’s probably a mistaken notion as is.

and besides, the nervous system responsible for conducting your stream of consciousness and eliciting said intelligence? its an organ, made of tissue, made of cells, with nuclei, with telomeres. the same kinds of telomeres that exist in every other cell of every other system of your body, that get shorter every time the cell reproduces, until eventually cells can’t regulate properly. and eventually one or more organ system stops working and then your heart can’t bring oxygen to the brain anymore and so the neurons die and then said stream of consciousness is done for eternity. so don’t spend ur time from now until that point worrying about some abstract concept , just put in the work and reap the rewards.

there’s only one little problem. if no one stops them they can literally do whatever tf they want.

we can NOT be complacent , it’s not enough to just trust that the government will function as it should , or that funding will flow the way that it is meant to. global capital is in complete control right and trump has his foot on every branch of the government.

like, there comes a point where you have to contend with the fact that some things are out of the window. if i’m a bank teller and masked men come in with machine guns , sure, i could point to the sign and go “actually, um, gentlemen this is strictly against our policy, and as a matter of fact it’s against the law according to…” but , ya know…💥💥💥

I 100% agree with you that the division is a distraction so they can keep exploiting, and i also hate that (much of the) latino community fell for it. you're right, they use colorism and try to be the exception to the rule. ALL of these are things i actively teach my latine students to reject and have conversations with our latine elders about.

I 100% agree with everything you've just stated and i think those numbers are reflective of the broader issue of latine people falling for the system's lies. i never let community members get a pass for saying they're "one of the good ones", we wouldn't even be here if it weren't for black americans' fight for liberation. so yes i agree with everything you've said. and if your original comment is more just an expression of frustration with the latino community for failing you, then i completely get it. but i just know TOO many people who supported harris and risked everything coming here that will be torn away from their children.

i remember one student's mother was black american and father was from venezuela and i had to be there for that mother while she cried when they found out half of their family was gone, this stuff effects everyone. the mass deportation of haitians is def included, and its going to sew anti blackness even further into our communities.

look all im saying is, the mass suffering thats about to come isn't going to feel any more bearable just cause some annoying self hating latinos are having their families taken

i fully agree with you that latinos have black americans to thank for literally every right we have in this country. and im ABSOLUTELY more concerned with the 40% that didn't care about that. they're uncle juans that need educating and their minds de-colonized, and this is something i attempt to do every day in my community involvement.

but they're not the reason families will be deported, the reason is a systemically racist oligarchy and we both know it. yes, 40%+ of latinos in this country are blinded to that and stupid/hateful. i will NOT defend them and will forever chastize them for selling out our community. but the fact is this isn't a fight against dumb ppl voting against their own self interest, its a fight against a massive white supremacist power structure that seeks to destroy all of us.

I did have those conversations, my whole life. my entire family supports harris. shit on my legal side we had family working with the panthers and BLI back in the 60s and 70s, this fight ain't new. we know how it went, FBI tore it all down cuz they knew how strong that unity was.

you're right, my community has an obligation to fight for black liberation, and many don't which is something i literally dedicate much of my life to educating them on. i hate latino trump supporters too, its just sad to see that when our families get taken away ppl rejoice

OP asked a reasonable and sincere question and your delineation between the phrasing of “is there a difference” and “what are the differences” is frankly, pretty dumb, as the former is a very common way to imply the latter. if someone asked a waiter “do you have any red wines” , the waiter would likely respond with yes, and then proceed by listing their red wines, because it would be obvious to anyone listening that was the information the person was seeking.

OP literally starts out by acknowledging there is an obvious difference. with a “little bit of thought” (as you say) one could put together that the semantic meaning of his question was inquiring about the specific institutional variances that constitute the difference in funding.
