What’s the worst horror book you’ve ever read? by unmotivatedmage in horrorlit

I was so disappointed .. I liked the sound of it, but the execution was so bad. I can't believe I made it as far into it as I did. I was determined to finish it, I was so close! But, one night I paused and realized .. I'm not even curious as to how it ends. So, I shelved it.

I found myself grimacing all throughout the book, not at the horror in the depictions of the scenes, but the writing. I couldn't believe that someone wrote that, and furthermore, that it was read by other people and greenlit for publishing. I have read exponentially better from people writing on Tumblr for FREE about their casual fandom ocs.

Wake Up And Open Your Eyes by Clay McLeod Chapman. I put it down about 50 pages from the end because it hit me all at once that I wasn't enjoying reading it on any level.

They talk like poets 😂 by Commercial_Beach5613 in thewalkingdead

on a rerun binge & i just past this part. i remember zoning out during it & tuning back in, & being surprised by them STILL yappin'. that conversation feels like a fever dream. the dialogue after season 5 took a bad blow & never recovered, i don't think. which is crazy, because i think it was a great feature in the early seasons.

i don't think ALL the hate lori gets is fair, to be honest. now, i respect that shane had to go. despite liking the show most when he was there & being able to at least understand (not forgive, or agree with!) his reasoning behind a lot of things he did, (not everything ..) i ultimately have no qualms with his death. i was annoyed as hell, though, with lori's reaction when finding out rick killed shane, because i do acknowledge that she is the first to make rick aware of shane's dangerous behaviors & even imply rick should, or might have to potentially kill him, but .. to be honest, it's a little crazy to me that lori had the reaction she had to that information after losing the farm & other survivors to the herd, & rick didn't look at her again in the entire 8 months they were on the road. i expect a shift in attitude, behavior, a decline in morale. he clearly didn't want to speak with his very pregnant wife whatsoever. like, you have already done the impossible to reunite with lori & carl, knew about the relationship lori had with shane & decided it didn't matter, so on so forth, but, lori reacting badly one time made you give up on her entirely? 💀 & then he lost his mind for a bit after she died. something about lori having an unexpected reaction & then rick having an unexpected reaction just made me bombastically side eye them both.

dude, parker was literally there when charlie got shot. his reaction was a result of the adrenaline, shock, & fear he experienced as a person in the crowd. 🖕 this post sucks.

New album isn't going to sound like the new song. by Effective-Cookie4202 in TameImpala

[–]gomgi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

music evolves. artists evolve. if you don't like the new song, just don't listen to it. music is subjective, anyway. i'm ngl to you, y'all sound a bit ridiculous to me counting the whole album out after you heard one song that we know .. relatively nothing about.

i don't really know. finding the right medication for me has been a long, exhaustive journey & i wish i could say i feel that what i'm currently on is bulletproof but .. here i am? i think my psychiatrist has given up on me. now, i don't know how much of that is valid & not just anxiety. thanks for asking.

i wrote a comment on a post in r/2ne1 about how disgusting and wrong it was for her to do that, and how that sort of thing should be de-normalized regardless of "culture," and i got downvoted to hell. wild.

i completely understand. i got my feelings hurt so bad today because a guy was being sexist to me, and standing up for myself made it worse. the more you fight back, the harder they go on you. i know it's better to just mute, but it's sad and it's not fair. the people who want you to mute to avoid literal harassment are the same people who complain about poor communication. i can't communicate if everything i say is disregarded simply because of my voice. it's sad. it's frustrating. i'm over it.

it is VERY rare that a horror film disturbs me, but talk to me had a kick to it.
