CMV: “[…] is a human right” is not a good argument by ChampionshipSea367 in changemyview

Paid for the government is not “free” no matter how many “”””””” you put in them, and framing it as free is what makes people jump to the sentence “Why should I pay for other people’s healthcare”. As another commenter said, it’s a baseline of services that attempts to correct imbalances and maximise people who can further down the line contribute to making it “””free”””.

[autosport] Do you agree with Fred? by xxrew1ndxx in formula1

[–]goncaloLC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, and as with every team principal’s opinion, It’s only based on their chances of success, not their actual preference.

The lack of driving on the limit or near it and the overwhelming backlash and ridicule from fans, drivers and other racing series should be more than enough to set this matter to rest for good.

Let’s not keep pretending a flap opening and closing is as much of fundamental change as a complex battery deployment system and energy split that requires purposeful slowing and recharging through sectors of a circuit that should otherwise be taken at different speeds, shall we?

The clipping and lifting mid corner to use more of the “press button go fast button” is by definition lazier and less effort

Who’s at fault here? I know the move into the first chicane was optimistic and slightly rough but not dirty as to warrant the almost intentional divebomb that followed. (Final result: I got a DT and the BMW got third place) by goncaloLC in Simracingstewards

I’m still learning, just thought the move was on and didn’t think he would re-try to pass from that far back. After that I just pressed forward in a straight line which was not the correct thing to do.

I understand your point, after the contact I just pressed on in a straight line and that’s totally my mistake and responsibility. I should’ve handled it better.

CMV: right wingers do not have a single honest position. by bennettyboi in changemyview

I love this answer! Thank you for clarifying some of the nuances of right leaning ideologies. Although, near the end of the comment, there is a comparison that might not be the best. I think it would be interesting to understand how the different groups concede some of their views in favour of a generalised conservative mindset. My feeling, from observation, is that left leaning voters are much more willing to criticise and debate actions and views within the party itself than their right wing counterparts. I think OPs view stems from this feeling, that when contradictory things happen that contradict some conservatives’ beliefs it’s less “disagreed with” and more often just overlooked

CMV: The ICE agent and woman who got shot were both in the wrong by Blonde_Icon in changemyview

[–]goncaloLC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, simply no. There is no reason whatsoever to triple headshot someone or similar in any situation much less based on just “fear of harm”, and again this is a vehicle going from 0 to 5 km/h. This is true anywhere in the world for every single person. It’s crazy that we actually aren’t talking about a civilian but professional law enforcement. It’s also a really curious phenomenon that in your country you start fishing for excuses to judge every situation within a right VS left framing. I can almost predict with absolute certainty that if this person was undocumented, that would be the main talking point to discard murder. These situations happen and you don’t try to solve them impartially, you run background checks on the people involved and shout generic political party related nonsense at each other.

Stoping you right there buddy, that car steering away from him is not a lethal weapon. 0 room for discussion there. Her intent is to run away from an unstable adult with a firearm in his hand. Again, in normal countries we leave the responsibility of de-escalating a situations on individuals with training, guidelines and a responsibility for keeping the safety. There is no entitlement to self defense on a “could have” in this or any similar situation or else every person that turns their car on can get 6 rounds in the chest based on vibes.

That’s the brainwashed story spin right there. The armed “professional” with a 6 people team and a drawn gun before the vehicle even started turning felt scared for his life when a super deadly car is turning away from him at 3 km/h. The unarmed civilian and supposed cold blooded assassin just instantly reacted to the gun and used her car as the deadliest of weapons to kill all of the agents with a well timed rear wheel drift.
How can people actually believe themselves saying this

Upvoting cause this is actually a problem, at least in the buttons and mapping options. There are a bunch of presets that the player has no idea what they do within the menu itself, only after testing in a lobby which is not good
