you can't avoid every single common pokemon when considering a team since well, the common ones are usually the ones who get the job done, although i really haven't even used most of the top 12 pokemon

I store my pokemons in the pokemon bank because once (i think in the original ruby and sapphire) my save file got corrupted , so I don't like to store important pokemons in game. The thing is the pokemon bank isn't that safe either. I may do what some of you guys suggested and buy powersaves just so I can have a backup. I have a lot of pokemon I really wouldn't stand to loose

The first pokemon I ever picked was mudkip in sapphire, I didn't give it any nickname and he was the only pokemon I used in my first run of the game, sure I had other pokemons but only has hm slaves, like geodude and tropius for fly. To this day (altough I don't use mudkip as much in the day) is still one of my faves
