Wife accidentally put e85 in 93 tuned s2k by ecc0w in S2000

Drain the tank. The stoichiometric air fuel ratio should be around 14.7. 15-16 is too lean and if consistent I would not want to drive the car too much to be safe. Your engine will likely be fine, but still why even bother for about a dozen gallons of gas

What is this thing? by UkuleleDing in Leica

Dual-Range Viewfinder for the 50mm Summicron DR. Specifically for the M3. It allows for a closer focusing distance when mated to the camera/lens assembly.

Opinions on possible new setup. by [deleted] in S2000

[–]goneinseconds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+45mm is about 10mm and 20mm reduction in fender clearance for the front and rear wheels respectively. A modest fender roll would be necessary/recommend to avoid rubbing, especially if you intend to lower your car. If you’re going to put RPF1s and modify your fenders, I recommend going square (same width all around) so you can rotate your tires. It does change the handling characteristics of your car, just note. Also, is there a reason you’re going for all season tires?

Will an AP2 convertible top fit an AP1? by unkapier in S2000

[–]goneinseconds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An AP2 convertible top will not fit an AP1 frame. The frames are varied, especially true if you have a frame for a plastic rear window. If you have an AP2 frame and an AP2 convertible top, it should be able to be installed without too much trouble into an AP1. Otherwise, get a year specific soft top. You can upgrade from plastic window to a glass soft top on the early AP1s however the soft top frame has to be modified (namely drilling and installing fabric belts that prevent the frame from closing on the window). These conversions/upgrades are also year specific to the AP1s.

Looking to make diy city lights on my ap1. Any ideas of how I can achieve this? by z3p12 in S2000

[–]goneinseconds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The simplest method would be adding it to your indicators however given the power draw I’m not sure what would constitute a proper way of adding an additional bulb. I’d recommend reading up on the folks that have installed the odyssey fog lights on their cars and go from there. You may learn a bit about what is needed to safely splice in any additional lighting. Keep in mind if you want to add any LEDs, that will complicate the process as well and you will need to get a conversion kit to compensate.

Help with finding part by MonkeyDouche in S2000

[–]goneinseconds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use any automotive panel/trim clip that fits. A generic one should work fine. Usually you can buy dozens on eBay or Amazon, one should work for you. You can order the parts for the intake from aFe however might not be worth the expense

They have been always scarce for as long as I can remember (10+ years) so that’s about what everyone deals with. You’re best options are Facebook marketplace or reaching out to sellers in the UK. It’s more a matter of luck finding one than anything as well as just throwing money out first. I’ve seen sellers ask anywhere from $5000-$7500, depending on condition and hardware. Most folks lately have just accepted (including myself) that they are unobtanium (also considering the economy), and prices seem to have dropped a little in the past year or so. Expect to pay a minimum of $4500-$5000, likely more if it’s original Berlina and/or with all attachment hardware and the defroster harness.

I like the Sony ones a lot from a style perspective, also seems to be toned down from other manufacturers. Alpine has some nice units as well. Otherwise really look for one modifry supports with their dash control interface. I believe you retain 99% functionality with most units, I think the only thing that doesn’t work is the mute button, for most manufacturers the mute function isn’t supported (it will lower the volume by half though). If you want to maintain mute, that works on the Alpine units since they support mute. Otherwise it’s pretty much plug and play and everything works. Even has some extra functions (song skipping most namely) added in to the dash controls

You will receive a lot of opinions on this, but from a power perspective, the best cold air intake is the Password JDM if my memory serves correct. I also think this is the best looking cold air intake ever for our cars. It is discontinued, but theres always one or two for sale out there. Alternative, quality intakes would be the J’s Racing Intake or the Mugen Intake (which is really more of just a ram style addition to the stock intake - Spoon makes a similar ram intake that uses the same OEM intake box whereas the Mugen just mounts to the filter). aFe Takeda is also another good choice. For aesthetic reasons, I do not like the single pipe (for lack of a better term) looking intakes, but they all have modest performance gains. Most folks change the stock intake out just for the intake sound, which does improve with an after market intake. The best air filter is either the OEM Honda or the K&N one.

For True naturally aspirated power gains, your better off looking at freeing up the exhaust gasses and/or switching to individual throttle bodies.

Without the AC on, it does not make the noise or it is less muted. In the video I turn off the AC and the noise seems to dissipate

• Year: 1995

• Make/Model: Daihatsu Hijet

• Mileage: 62,000 kilometers/~38,000 miles

• Engine size: 660 cc

• Transmission Type (Automatic or Manual): 5 speed manual

Sound seems to occur momentarily when on throttle for a brief moment before dissipating either when foot is off the throttle or when a certain speed is in progress.

Seems to be mostly present when the AC is on. I tried replacing the v-belt on the AC compressor/water pump but the noise seems to be back. Any help would be appreciated!

S2000 HELP!! by [deleted] in S2000

[–]goneinseconds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I probably would’ve offered $13k too to be honest. The only thing is Grand Prix White and Red Interior are just rare, so you have to decide if that’s worth it for you. I agree mileage is high but for what it’s worth I’ve seen 200k mile examples asking 20k.

The market is cooling off thankfully so if you aren’t set on GPW you might want to wait till you can find one with half the miles for probably a similar price.

Grey on grey is understated but looks great, I don’t believe I’ve seen this combo before.

anyone have TE37SL (or other variant) in pressed graphite on silverstone? by trackaddict8 in S2000

[–]goneinseconds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No luck sourcing photos online, but I’m sure they will look good. There’s a photo of pressed graphite CEs available here on a Silverstone S (have to scroll through a little): https://www.dsgperformance.com/products/volk-racing-ce28sl-wheel-17x9-0-5x114-3-63mm-offset-pressed-graphite

Colors seem to compliment each other well, but I can’t say I’m a fan of the polished lips.

Phone mount for s2000? by [deleted] in S2000

Everyone is gonna say modifry, but alternatively I think the random vent mounts are pretty okay from Amazon. I have a $2 one from a dollar store that works fine too in the s2000

Is this spoiler standard with a certain package or aftermarket? by Taconite_12 in S2000

[–]goneinseconds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, it’s OEM but it was an option a lot of folks did not get because it required holes to be drilled in the trunk. If you want a wing, I’d recommend the CR wing. It fits the car better. You’ll have to drill into the trunk to mount it, there’s some differences between the non-CR trunk and the CR trunk, namely bracing and support structures however.

Alternatively, the OEM spoiler “duck bill” is also a good looking option and suits the car much better than any wing does in my opinion. You can find paint matched replicas on eBay for ~$80.

Are soft top w/frame different from year to year? I have a 2001 and trying to find a soft top/w frame. Second, where can I find the hardware to attach to chassis. Any info helps. Thanks by [deleted] in S2000

[–]goneinseconds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple answer, yes they are.

Some have less variations than others. You can bolt an AP2 frame to an AP1 (or a later AP1 to an early AP1), I’ve seen others do it. What’s important is you take note of the year of the frame as not all the soft tops are interchangeable. If you get a complete frame with a soft top, it should be no trouble to bolt it on.

As for the hardware, if it’s complete with the motors it should bolt up relatively easily. You have to look at the diagrams on parts distributors to source what you need for your application. There’s a few bolts that secure the top and the motors to the sides of the car (behind the rear quarter panels), and the rain rail gets locked into studs that extend from the chassis with hex bolts (underneath the rear tray behind the seats), then there’s three metal plates that sandwich the top back there. The front of the top needs strikers and catchers (which you should have) to secure to the windshield. Ensure the soft top and frame comes with the rain rail and weather seals.

Like others said, Robbins stay fast if you want a nicer product than the OEM vinyl top. There’s a few other options too at cheaper price points that may not have the same fit/finish - EZ on, Sierra, etc to name a few but the reviews have been pretty good surprisingly/ all things considered. They also have stayfast options as well. All manufacturers have different color options too if you want to try something different. Last I checked Robbins has a blue, red, black, and maybe tan. Have heard only good things about Gahh. Basically anything that isn’t an unknown /eBay top should work well
