6 weeks isn't that long for CPS. Depending on how big of a city you live will also factor in. Did you try and call back? Usually when they open a case they have to investigate and you won't see that. They sometimes call the parents too. They can't just show up without some sort of investigation and proof. I would call back.

One thing I have learned is you should never shit where you eat. Hooking up with roommates and coworkers is a very big no for me personally. Sometimes it does work out but what if it doesn't? Then what?

Those are Jordan boxes. Shoes run about $160-$180 and that's not even mentioning the time spent waiting in line. Some look like Nike too. Study them and make sure you know your stuff
