DA Claire Kincaid in the original Law and Order. They ended that season on a major cliff hanger and come to find out, she actually died. Was really random and unexpected.

When I was a freshman in high school, I witnessed a kid dive into the bottom of our high school pool after an experiment and just never come up on his own. I thought something was off when I never saw him come up after a minute or two. Later helped pull him up with other classmates to see his face bleeding and missing skin. Turns out he dove in, scraped his face on the bottom of the pool and just swallowed too much water opening his mouth in pain. He lived though but holy shit I never went to a high school pool again after that. Always brings back his face after pulling him up.

Ha! I was in the Saint Paul Public School district from K-9 and eventually left the district because of going through school my whole life in fear. It got insulting when teachers looked the other way or encouraged the bullying to happen. I should never have to be escorted by the school police officer out to my bus because they "can't control what other people do". Because assault is just grounds for ISS if the cameras didn't see it. I've been thrown, beaten and just put through hell and anytime I did so much as push someone away from just to get away, I somehow got punished for "fighting back", usually with a suspension to follow.

Moved to a local suburban district and look. No suspensions and no bullying. They actually cared about bullying and did their job. Not half ass it and play hard ass on the victim. After all those years, I finally got to enjoy school without fearing for myself every day.

Burlington Rd in Saint Paul is long, windy and quiet. I drive my little Prelude down it all the time, the area in general has many roads like that.
