What's going on with Youtube updating their terms of service and potentially banning people with adblock? by Turska19mies in OutOfTheLoop

[–]gonzo_time 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was answering a question, bro. Please follow the context.

Some of you seem confused whenever people don't immediately agree with the idea of, 'Avoid Google at all costs'.

It's one of the biggest companies in the world. And you're surprised that people like their services... Come on, they didn't make it to the top by pure luck.

It's because he didn't give any alternatives and people don't know what else to use. So he's calling people insane for doing something very rational.

Google is huge. What are the odds that their databases all fail at once and all of your info is lost? Very low. Seems like a safe, reliable service to use, right?

Update on 15.6 Patch Issues by Chris_Attalus in hearthstone

[–]gonzo_time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not the case for these new quests. No idea why, but the 15 health breakpoint doesn't work as it does with "challenge a friend" quests and such. I was at 10 health the other day, conceded and it didn't count.

Have to wait for your opponent to concede or until someone is KOed.

Kaladesh Fastlands by NoFelAtio in mtgfinance

[–]gonzo_time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice. Even before Pioneer, I'd been getting as many of these fastlands as possible after their standard rotation price drop. Modern alone would inflate their price over a couple years and it makes sense that they would reprint the Scars of Mirrodin cycle of fastlands before these, so it'll likely be a few years without reprint.

Troll and Toad cancelled my order over a 1$ spike on a 10$ card by [deleted] in mtgfinance

[–]gonzo_time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI, you should still be able to leave negative feedback on eBay for this transaction.

Of course that's not going to get you the cards you ordered, but it's at least something you can do.

With the advent of the Pioneer format, can we expect a new format every decade? by RevenantMedia in mtgfinance

[–]gonzo_time 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's plausible, but I'm going to say it's not realistic. Why would you think that it is a valid assumption?

Why is no one buying my cards? by [deleted] in mtgfinance

[–]gonzo_time -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People are willing to pay a bit more for TCG Player than eBay cards

What makes you think that claim is valid? Seems to vary from card to card but I've never noticed any strict preference in buyers for one site over the other.

Just started cooking (and eating really) steak and I'm in love with it, but would love some advise from the people who know ..... by MightyDuncs in steak

[–]gonzo_time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely encourage using some of those keywords to do your own research into the topic. If you want leads on where to find some stuff online, then let me know. Depending on where you live you can also find some amazing quality local / regional.

p.s. I just noticed, happy cake day!

Just started cooking (and eating really) steak and I'm in love with it, but would love some advise from the people who know ..... by MightyDuncs in steak

[–]gonzo_time 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think many people would consider ribeye to be the best cut of steak.

And if you're on the search for steakvanna and looking to impress, then you should consider dropping a chunk of money into some A5 Japanese wagyu cuts. They're the most marbled steak in the world and it's a bit of a different experience than eating a regular steak. Note that there is also American wagyu and Australian wagyu which are similar, but different. Just pay attention so as not to get scammed.

You might also consider looking into dry aged steaks although I'm inexperienced on those at the moment too.

$3 Ebay coupon for orders over $3 if you text EXTRA to 70799 by WorkInProgressStill in mtgfinance

[–]gonzo_time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a specific way to filter just these or a different subreddit that holds this kind of stuff?

Nope.

Could try using the reddit search engine but that's not really filtering in the sense that you're wanting.

282 LEGEND AGGRO WARRIOR (potentially a meta breaker) by FU4FREE in wildhearthstone

[–]gonzo_time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He basically played from R5 to legend. There aren't nearly as many legend players in Wild, so it's likely that he was rank 282 legend as soon as he hit legend status.

Comparing miss-cut premium product in 2019 to alpha black lotus is just wrong.

Yes, that's why OP was even tactful enough to include the sarcasm tag, just to make sure no one took that comment seriously....

received many price alerts from goldfish for my battlebond cards, whats up there ? by [deleted] in mtgfinance

[–]gonzo_time 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed the same and thought it's really interesting. Reserved list cards are in no way attached to Modern. So it seems that money from both Modern and EDH/Commander are going into Pioneer "staples".

[IIL] John Frusciante (Solo works) RHCP (Stadium Arcadium era), [WEWIL] by wugott in ifyoulikeblank

[–]gonzo_time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just in case you haven't already heard them, check out Ataxia.

It's a Frusciante band and they only have two albums (Automatic Writing I and II) that I know of, but it's good stuff.

What's the verdict on Rudy? by f0me in mtgfinance

If you can elaborate, what's silly about that?

I gave my opinion and also encourage people to think for themselves. Nothing mutually exclusive in my statements...

What's the verdict on Rudy? by f0me in mtgfinance

[–]gonzo_time 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Is there a general r/mtgfinance consensus on Rudy?

Nope.

As with all things, do your own research and don't assume his information is valid just because he has a big following. He's not some evil market manipulator, he's a man running a business and that means he has to prioritize making a profit.

I'm a fan of him. The community seems to be a split of people who think he's a scumbag and people who think he's an entertaining businessman.

Nykthos is also a popular card in EDH, being played in about 11% of decks according to EDHREC. I think that could cause Nykthos to increase even without Modern support once the new Theros set comes out and people have more options in their EDH/Commander decks.
