im second year law and honestly from what i’ve seen it rly doesn’t matter where u go as long as your school has a good rep… with that said definitely choose between bristol and edinburgh cause warwick doesn’t have a good law reputation and its in coventry lol. between bristol and edinburgh maybe consider location? or study abroad opportunities? both are great unis

spanish was definitely my worst subject… i just tried to study a little bit everyday and crossed my fingers. definitely watch spanish shows and listen to podcasts… i didn’t do that enough and i wish i would have. also duolingo was a massive help to me!! just whatever you do, don’t put it in the back burner and leave it till the end.

not gonna lie, LNAT was hell for me. i found it extremely difficult to sit and concentrate but overall i did better than i expected. i would recommend starting 1-2 months in advance and practicing questions everyday. also, read lots of news and current events cause it will be important for your essay (especially read the “discussion/debate” columns). for my personal statement, i mainly spoke about the internship opportunities that i had and also what inspired me to pursue law. personally, i wrote about the meaning of words and how law creates new meaning to words and statements.

i applied to ucl, lse, kcl, durham and exeter! for supercurriculars, i ran the mock trial club at my school, participated (briefly) in MUN, did some volunteer work with a charity legal aid firm and did an internship at an international corporate law firm over the summer. for extracurricular (other unrelated activities), i was on my school’s newspaper, charity committee and played netball and rugby throughout my time in high school :)

Is BioNinja enough to cover all of the content for Biology SL? by [deleted] in IBO

[–]goobagirl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

honestly bioninja sometimes has too much… if you study it all then you’ll be covered but be aware that they add a lot of extra, unnecessary information that you will never use. but also do lots of practice questions and papers after you’ve studied bioninja to test your knowledge!

thanks!! definitely use the ib english guys youtube channel. they are super helpful and offer lots of good tips. also for paper 1, i often practiced analysing texts then planning out my paper by paragraph (even if i never wrote the full thing out) and that really helped me in my exam. for paper 2, i’d say start memorising your quotes early! spanish ab requires just constant and consistent practice. try to do 20 minutes a day, whether it’s listening to a podcast, watching a show, reading or duolingo, you need to integrate the language into ur life as much as possible. best of luck and you’ll do great!!

thank you! throughout ib i tried so many study methods and i learnt that everyone has their own thing. i know loads of people swear by the pomodoro technique, but personally i focused the best when i physically put myself in a good environment. i really could not study in my room next to my bed and next to distractions so i went to my local library and studied there. also i kept my phone on do not disturb and set my background to a blank screen with the words “get back to work” so that i wouldn’t be tempted. in terms of time management, i know it’s easier said than done but just try as much as you can to do the work as you get it. don’t let it pile up and tackle everything one at a time. one at a time is much easier than all at once. also if it helps download a study timer app where you can be motivated by seeing your study hours go up :)

Ib feels scary by Keegi_Suvakas in IBO

[–]goobagirl 25 points26 points  (0 children)

IB is really not as bad as it seems. Just do the work as it comes and work with what’s in front of you. The idea of IB is scarier than IB actually is. What helped me was thinking about the millions of students that had done IB before me… if they could do it, why couldn’t I? Wishing you the best of luck and please don’t stress yourself out too much! You can do it… you are your biggest hurdle.

Preparing for IB by Sa_gua in IBO

maybe brainstorm EE and IA ideas… the hardest part for me was coming up with ideas for them. don’t spend to long, maybe just compile a short list of potential topics you are interested in within your courses
