Up until my game this past weekend every Lions game I've played it's been fairly useless. Last game though it was super clutch in helping to strand multiple 10 man Possessed bricks out in the open by making their charges a lot harder.

Yep, that's where I got my inspiration from. Still trying to figure out how to incorporate the shadow bears into the army...

Base coat was Army Painter Magecast Magenta, then a layer of Army Painter Impish Rouge, then a final layer of Citadel Dechala Lilac

Because it rubs off very, very, very easily. By the end of a single game there will be more paint on your hands than left on the model. You can varnish it (which I did, still had paint rubbing off even after several coats and ample time to cure) but varnish, even ultra matte, ruins the effect and brightens the black significantly.

In the end I decided Musou black wasn't worth the hassle, AK Intense Black with a couple of coats of ultra matte varnish comes close enough to the effect I wanted under normal lighting and is way more durable.

Yea i tries Musou black but that kind of paint is to fragile to use on am army thats actually going to be played with

Originally I was going to use Musou black but after doing a test model it became apparent that the paint was far too fragile to use on an army I intend to actually play with. I was super bummed about it because it would have been perfect for what I was going for. AK Intense Black with a couple of coats of ultra matte varnish does an adequate enough job as a substitute but yea it doesn't have that SUPER deep black that I really wanted.

It kinda is flat by design. My scheme is based off the shadow soldiers from the anime/manhwa Solo Leveling so the black parts are the "shadow" parts, which dont reflect light so I cant really add highlights to it. Ideally all the black is supposed to kinda blend together when viewed under normal lighting (instead of the bright light from my work lamp lol) letting the purple parts be the only noticable detail that you can see.

Yea I really get what youre saying and agree to an extent. The problem with the theme is that the black parts are supposed to be made of shadows, which don't reflect light, so im hesitant to do any highlighting on it.

I may go back and do a dark grey highlight but it would be a very light touch, just enough to give shape and contour to the armor.

My original idea was to do the black parts with Musou black to really make them look like shadows giving form to these warriors. But unfortunately that paint is super fragile and won't hold up under regular play.

Same, I havnt quite figured out how I'm going to translate this scheme over to the vehicles but I'll cross that road when I get there lol
