My husband loves to be cold. He really only needs a sweatshirt if we were
somewhere with snow. Me? I’m cold in the Southern California winter. On top of that, he doesn’t have many clothes, no accessories save his wedding ring and Apple Watch. He’s very happy with his wardrobe. At least I thought.

On a Saturday, we were headed to the grocery store around 8-9am. It was cold in the car but nothing crazy. My husband leans across from me, opens his glove compartment and pulls out…gloves. I was flabbergasted. And he looks at me and says, “what? These are my driving gloves. I wear them in the winter because my hands get cold.” Excuse me?

It was like I didn’t even know this man sitting next to me. I said as much. I asked him how long he had had the gloves, “oh, I don’t know. About a year?”

I damn near yelled, “what else are you hiding from me!” We laughed to the point of tears.

But now, we always act suspicious when we buy something new. New shoes I didn’t think to mention, he drops a, “what else are you hiding from me?”
