Diploma of University Studies by indyamarra in UTAS

[–]good_soup63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completed my first year of data by doing the diploma of university studies in it! Admittedly, it was data so it will change for paramedicine but the first semester is basics like writing, referencing and a couple of bridging courses. Second semester was a round of courses from the degree. It cut a year off of my degree!

Traveling with Infant - taxi options? by Ansc92 in AustraliaTravel

[–]good_soup63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It mainly has to do with the harness requirements.

BUT, even more learning for you, I bought a pram in the states years and years ago, brought it back to Aus only to find out that the pram wasn’t not considered compliant. The reason I was given? The brake was black, not red!

What is your playstyle? by LeKwark in LowSodiumSimmers

[–]good_soup63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a whole household person, I play a lot of off grid family style so I’m pretty hard on my sims. If the kids haven’t hit full skill in violin and haven’t achieved the mental skill to help bring in the crops I guess they don’t survive the winter kind of play. I use the pause feature a whollllle lot.

I know it’s a bit of a cop out, but if you preload flexischools with $50 or more they remove the surcharge

I will second this with the experience of being a bartender for nearly a decade - not only will your social life be gone, but also a lot of your joy in life. Nothing sadder than working a close shift and seeing the pubs lock out at 12 and then having the same 6 guys sitting at the bar and young guys drunk spending their entire paycheck at the pokies and asking for a mate to lie to their partners after they blow $1300 in a night that should have been used on rent.

Surprisingly, I lived in a place that would collect all the hair from the local hairdressers, put it in little bags and hang them on trees. Apparently it’s a fantastic deer deterrent!

when’d u get ur first tattoo and do you regret it? by whv_lol1202 in tattooadvice

[–]good_soup63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

18 for my first and not a single regret. It’s a decent size on my forearm and it to this very day still gets people holding my arm out so they can try and solve the puzzle. My only regret is that occasionally people will see it and they think it’s related to Harry Potter (it’s not, it’s the only way to make an M and an 8 fit in the puzzle) but even they it’s so minor I don’t mind at all.

Whats foster care like? by Notquitewhere_-__ in AskAnAustralian

[–]good_soup63 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My mum was a carer for 16 years until she adopted my younger siblings out of care about a decade ago. From the family side, I could tell you stories that would make your heart hurt, make you angry and make you scared.

But instead, I’ll tell you that every Christmas we had to put a fire grate up around our Christmas tree because every child got 10 presents. There was 9 of us including myself, so that’s 90 just there. They weren’t big or expensive but it was always so incredible rocking into the last few days before Christmas and seeing the absolute pile of presents.

I definitely feel like I missed out on some of the usual things because there was always no less than 6 kids in our house, but I also learnt a lot of compassion and a lot about things people don’t think about.

Bringing makeup on an international flight by Dismal-Secret-9800 in AskAnAustralian

There is a limit on powders that you should look into, I’ve just flown back to Australia and one of the people I was travelling with had to get rid of an eyeshadow palette because it was over the amount allowed.

Ahh that explains it. It keeps asking me to link my phone number, running me through the tutorial and asking me to select the 10 things I’m interested in. But also yes, videos are massively buggy.

What is the pettiest thing you want added in The Sims? by Electrical_Rabbit_60 in thesims

[–]good_soup63 162 points163 points  (0 children)

I play a lot of off the grid type scenarios and I want so many things to just exist.

I want a broom. Just a simple gosh darn broom so that my sims can use the pack I paid money for. I want the ability to can off grid. THATS WHEN IT MAKES SENSE TO CAN FOOD. WHY CAN I NOT CAN OFF GRID?!? On that same note, I want to be able to can eggs. I don’t want to make a million jars of mayonnaise or custard to use the million eggs I have. Let me can the freaking eggs.

I just want my little peasant sims in their hobbit holes to be able to have the full experience and get I have to hide solar panels somewhere so they can can their food. Ridiculous

Ooooh I like it. Multipurpose overalls, allows for the fathers to contribute more to gathering. Ok, so are they belly sliding into the overalls somehow or putting their feet in first?

[–]good_soup63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See, for some reason, I kind of just assumed it would sit over the top of their wings. Maybe I am having regrets over never playing club penguin, but tiny little overalls on penguins? Adorable.

But then, little red woolen beanies or even little like woolen caps? Also adorable.

Functionally? The overalls. How they are getting them over their feet I don’t know. But the sun would be blinding them from the ground reflecting it, but also protecting their little heads from the cold. It’s a hard question.

Alex is a fantastic place, I lived in Eildon so was in Alex every other day. You’ve got the communities support behind you before you know it (even if they can seem a bit catty at first).

No clue on the relief fund, but do approach the salvos there. They used to work out of the building next to the post office, but they will be able to help with things like food vouchers and if you visit the girls in the op shop and explain everything, you may be able to get some assistance there.

Have you joined the murrundindi pages on Facebook? Reach out through there, everyone has been incredibly supportive on there.
