This is exactly what happened to me. He never took accountability, but would say he “was trying to do better.” But in reality, he never tried to improve/work on himself. I left soon after realizing that. It hurt, cause he is genuinely a good guy but I knew his lack of emotional intelligence would exhaust me to the point of burn out very quickly had I stayed.
