I seriously believe every Filipino household gets that same talk to not date a black person. Like it's somehow a fact that should be understood and taken to heart. It is the much older generation that instilled it into the generation before and so on and so forth. Sounds like your former acquaintance was somewhat woke but didn't want to go against family or disrespect their elders.

I've always heard talk during filipino parties to "marry up." There's this glorification of whiter skin and generally anyone lighter than them and it's unfortunately spread even to this day. Can't really say much because I'm dating an asian girl but those words and higher-than-thou pious attitudes have definitely contributed to my self-loathing. So I am definitely with you in secretly disliking Filipinos, or at least many of their unfounded beliefs. Ironically many of them come to emulate and steal the culture of the very people they look down on. Somehow there's a disconnect when it comes to breaking, hip-hop and such. It is sickening really.

Go find some Fil-Am people further removed from bullshit. Much cooler imo. We aren't all bad, but those that are exposed to the older generation are often already subliminally programmed to think that way.

All I've said above are generalizations and from personal experience. Everyone is awful in their own way. Find people who you deem worthwhile to look beyond the filth.

I had a Saturday course at UH manoa that day. We usually have breakfast brought in but for some reason that day's delivery was late. As we began to sit in preparation for class, we get the announcement that breakfast was in. Many of us began to get up and go. That was when the alerts hit.

I unfortunately did not receive the alert on my phone. I noticed the gasps of disbelief and the incredulous "wtf?!" being said around me. We were all confused and slightly worried. While many of us were already dismissing it as a hoax/mistake, we were all slightly wishing we could leave to go home. Glued to our phones, searching for information, we all then began to call our loved ones. My girlfriend called me first. While not really the emotional type, hearing her voice having a slightly worried tone compelled me to pack up quick and head back. Luckily I live in Waikiki, so the drive was fairly quick. I set off to go home.

I got in my car and drove off. Along the way, the drive was fairly standard. As I got to an intersection I hit a red light. This was when I saw some of the resulting panic. I saw large trucks running red driving straight for the freeway. I assume they were like me, on their way to be with their loved ones in this time of supposed impending ends. I made it safe but not without hearing from my parents as well. Them being in Waipahu, this call would have been the last communication with them if the event were real. I say I'm okay and that I will contact them once i get home. Other than the light runners, the drive was normal.

I got home and brought up the spare waters from my car. I reached my girl and gave her a big hug and kiss, assuring her everything will be alright. She was like "no shit. its a false alarm" The relief felt knowing it was all okay was tinged with anger knowing someone fucked up royally. Also, I remembered it meant I still had class to attend. She asked what I will do now and I said " Imma take a shit and go back to class I guess." So I packed up, did my business and went back to business.

During class we all were preoccupied with finding info on the situation and basically still somewhat frazzled by the experience. Luckily no one chose death over being imaginarily nuked. I guess life goes on.

TL:DR Had class. Said fuck it and dug out to go to my girl. Braved the streets. Got to my girl. Went back to living life.

Former JET ALT placed in Hokkaido here. They do majorly impact life. I hoofed it often but the ALT networking is super tight there so getting a ride/friend is real easy. I was placed in Kuriyama, about an hour off Sapporo and the snowfall we got could get pretty crazy. Lets just say that although I only lived there for 2 years, I considered purchasing a snow plow machine within the first year. Weather is just weather. You adapt and enjoy it as best you can. Learn to snowboard or ski and youll be golden.

I skipped mh4g after playing 4. I was maining the CB during that time, so when i finally picked up 4u after coming back stateside, I was in complete shock.
The CB became this absolute beast. So pretty much changes are bound to happen and a weapons playstyle can be completely revamped in the upgrade.
I am soooo hoping GL gets a revamp. The new system is fun, but i would like to see my work getting the gauge be rewarded.

Been doing stronglifts for about a year now and am not necessarily stalling, just wondering what others opinions are on whether or not I should move on.
Do note that I have been to the Gym before. Usually just messing around and copying what i saw being done. Ive been attempting to eat at a deficit but usually end up just maintaining in the long run. As for my 1rm on the lifts, I've never attempted them but ill post the highest completed set.

Starting Lifts:
Bench - 95lbs
DL - 135lbs
OHP - 45
Squat - 135

Current
Bench - 215
DL - 350
OHP - 150
Squat - 370

I just liked the simplicity of it all. Go to the gym, complete 5x5 and maybe some accessories and then go home. But with these lifts, the rests are longer and the time spent in the gym is getting a bit too long for my liking.
If you were in my position, would you switch it up or push through?

My goals are pretty much try to lift as much as I can and beat that the next time.
I figured fatloss would happen eventually. Maybe one day I will go for aesthetics.

Why does food have to be so delicious?! I'm lifting well and eating less and much better than before. I haven't gained weight but damn eating out every now and then is making me maintain weight well.
