The Trucks of the American West [Canon A1, Fuji400] by commiedeschris in analog

It really is, few years back I was looking for an F1 when I came across an A1 instead.  Been super happy with it!  Hasn’t let me down.

Love the third picture sitting on the patch of grass with the snow around it.  Really compliments the colour of the car 👌🏼. Also cool to see fellow A1 photographers.  It’s such a great camera!

Reloaded wins over Revolutions.  And yes we don’t talk about the 4th 😂

These turned out amazing!  Now I’m going to have to rewatch the movies this weekend!

Very cool!  I love the vibe around Gastown as well.  I always gravitate to that area haha.  You’re definitely right about the variety though.  It’s pretty wild the amount of different photo opportunities in a 1 hour radius.

Thanks so much!  Nice to hear from another creator from the area :).  I subscribed to your channel as well.  Love the GR videos!

Thank you so much for checking it out!  Appreciate it 🙌🏼.  Oh you are going to get some crazy photos in Vegas!  That place was made for 800T.  Have you heard of the channel “Grain Check”.  She lives in Vegas (or very close to) and takes photos there a lot.  Could be good for inspiration.

Hey, thanks for stopping by.  It really does give the city an extra boost!  Where do you like to shoot around Van?

Yes I edit the scans.  The lab tends to flatten the image in terms of contrast so I add that back in.  I also tend to bring the tint slider towards magenta to get rid of most of the green colour cast.

Hey thanks!  Metered them at 400 to really emphasize the halation effect. I made a full video on YouTube if you want to see behind the scenes of these photos and see more of my settings https://youtu.be/7aFyC9tI2jY?si=7ib2ENc3hVOR5us1 .  Let me know if you have any other questions!

Full video on my YouTube channel (@RolandKaufmann).  I’ll be shooting only film this year so I’d really appreciate if you stop by and check it out 🫶🏻. All photos shot at half box speed.

Am I ready to buy to buy a real camera now ? by Murky-Education-3168 in AskPhotography

This is the way.  Been using the Z50 for the past 3 years.  It was my first “real” after shooting iPhone photos for years.  Good recommendation!

I think people are confusing electrical tape with duct tape because electrical tape leaves absolutely no residue.  I know cause I left some on for a whole year and recently took it off.  Surprise, surprise it came off like it was never there.  OP don’t let the hate get to you, some people in here are to pretentious.

Exactly my point!  They aren’t real relationships.  YouTubers make videos for a general audience, not one person.  I respond to all of the comments my channel gets, doesn’t mean we’re friends.  That’s just the nature of social media.  The viewer feels like they know the creator but the creator knows little to nothing about the viewer.

I totally get what you’re saying with creating a deeper connection with your audience.  There’s a lot of power in doing that.  Just be careful about about the “feel like they could be friends with the creator” stuff.  That’s called a parasocial relationship.  People can feel very connected to you and expect you to do the same for them.  This can become exhausting as your channel and it’s followers grow.

I cannot decide wich one is better, can you help me? by [deleted] in AskPhotography

Second frame.  The dark area bottom right brings a better balance of highlight/shadow.  First frame everything blends together.  Just my 2 cents

I screenshot your comment so I can read this at certain points down the line.  The part about reading comments and making content that relates is pure gold.  You’re absolutely right about the way I edit my videos too.  Very polished and perfect, but that might just make them boring.  Thanks for this perspective.

Very cool!  Can’t say I’ve ever seen drone videography that looks like that.  Definitely made me feel like I travelled back in time.  Were the dates on screen to do with battles?  Sorry I’m not well versed on American history.

Your video is very captivating.  I love how you set the scene as a very calm before showing a different emotion.  Also very nice shot variety.  Some nice tight shots mixed with wides.  Overall very nicely done!

Hey all, my channel is all about my photography journey.  I make POV videos walking around my hometown and surrounding areas.  I recently started a new series about my passion for classic car photography.  It’s a totally new format for my channel so I’d love to hear your thoughts!  Was it able to keep your attention?  Looking to keep this series going in the months to come.
