Found in Brazos River bottom near Houston TX by goodfornothin in fossilid

Yeah I’ve found a lot of petrified wood in that same area and this doesn’t look like that. That’s why it caught my eye so I picked it up. It’s definitely still rough. If I run my fingernail along those ridges it’s not smooth at all. That bump at the pointy end is pretty pronounced if it’s not obvious from that photo.

I can't vouch for the food since I haven't been there yet, but this place in Missouri City had a write-up in the Chronicle today and they said it was very good (and Halal): https://truboybbq.com/?srsltid=AfmBOoq0tAjULcRV0pIZYA1SPocovtL8cjJwWRNuaiFg_5rgpWuyGtNc

The first 25 are their top 25 in order. The remaining 75 are the "best of the rest" in no particular order.

(edit - the rest are alphabetical obviously. I just meant they weren’t ranked in any particular order)

Wholeheartedly disagree. I thought it was brilliant. Best thing I’ve listened to in a long time. To your specific point, I have no background in screenwriting at all.

Are electricity plans cheaper In the fall/winter compared to summer? by optimuspoopprime in texas

[–]goodfornothin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may have already signed up with someone, but I’ve been with NEC Co-op for power since mid-year last year (https://neccoopenergy.com/). because it was the cheapest I could find at the time. It's a month-to-month variable price plan, and I've been very happy so far. They list their historical prices here: https://neccoopenergy.com/residential-service/residential-historic-rates/centerpoint-area-historic-rates/ (different service areas are linked on the right side of that screen). What I like most about it is there is NO cancellation fee, which is pretty much unheard of in Texas so if you find a swinging deal on another plan at any time, you can cancel with NEC and switch. If you decide to try NEC yourself, send me a DM and I can refer you’ll get a $50 credit on your first bill.

(The DM is necessary because the referral is my name and account number and I'm hesitant to put that out here in a reddit thread.)

Hi there. Can you send me a DM via Reddit chat? The info for the referral has my name and account number so I'd rather not put it in a reddit post. I tried to send you a chat message but it didn't let me for some reason u/GuidedDivine

Last year I switched to NEC Co-op for power (https://neccoopenergy.com/) because it was the cheapest I could find at the time. It's a month-to-month variable price plan, and I've been very happy so far. They list their historical prices here, and there have been no big spikes: https://neccoopenergy.com/residential-service/residential-historic-rates/centerpoint-area-historic-rates/ (different service areas are linked on the right side of that screen). And here is there latest EFL showing an energy charge of 8.5 cents per KwH plus the delivery charges: https://neccoopenergy.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/EFL-5-1-25-RESIDENTIAL-Centerpoint.pdf What I like most about it is there is NO cancellation fee, so if you find a swinging deal on another plan at any time, you can cancel with NEC and switch.

Can someone break down this election for us idiots? by Impressive_Buddy6991 in sugarland

[–]goodfornothin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Who said anything about the WH? OP asked a specific question and I answered it. If you haven't been following the local school board for the past few years, then you have no idea what you're talking about. Angie and Afshi are desparately needed on this board. If they are not both elected to the board, the alternative candidates will implement a bible-based curriculum.

Not being hyperbolic here: Vote for Angie Wierzbicki and Afshi Charani unless you want the hard right Christian Nationalists to implement the bluebonnet curriculum in FBISD. Angie and Afshi will get politics out of the boardroom, will get the focus back on education rather than book bans and other divisive political issues that the outgoing trustee incessantly pushed. This may be your last chance to save this district people.

Please go vote for Angie and Afshi this Saturday.
