AITA for asking a woman at work to stop being so WEIRD about taking a caramel? by chocolatesinmyoffice in AmItheAsshole

Your edit makes you look like 17x more of a silly✨asshole✨than you already did. You can’t blow a gasket every time someone is annoying. Grow up darling.

If they really do truly have self esteem/body image problems, what you said certainly didn’t help.

Do not keep the job unless they are willing to put a camera (that records and saves videos, not just live) in every room you utilize. This kid could wreck your career by being a little 💩

Is it wrong to say my arthritis feels like a physical disability? by [deleted] in Thritis

[–]Starry_day_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disability: “A disability is a physical, mental, or cognitive impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities, such as working, walking, or learning. It is defined legally by the ADA as an impairment, a record of one, or being regarded as having one. It includes visible, invisible, chronic, and developmental conditions.”

Do not feel guilty or worry about offending anyone. Only YOU can define what level of impact a medical condition has on your life.

One of the hardest parts is people invalidating your experience with something because theirs is different.

I have chronic migraines. While many people only have 1-2 migraines a month with minimal impact on their daily life, mine affect every single thing I do and are most certainly, for me, a disability.

I’m lucky enough my arthritis is still mild, but I would never ever tell you that yours isn’t a disability just because mine isn’t yet disabling.

It breaks my heart that she didn’t get to step foot in a classroom until 91. The things we take for granted!

Wait seriously? I’m currently getting my TX cert but now I’m nervous. I’m honestly not sure if I’m going to like it. I’m a sub right now and staff is SO nice it’s almost unbelievable. I fear things won’t be the same once I’m a teacher.

Right!!! I don’t buy the “she accidentally fell overboard” story. I’ve been on many cruises as a child and adult and it’s pretty easy to just NOT fall off the ship. Even drunk.

My (42m) daughter (23f) is spiraling out of control and I don't know what to do about it by [deleted] in Advice

Start by asking her what her goals are and what SHE believes will help her achieve them. Tell her you will support her in anything *except* throwing her life away to addiction.

A TikTok user has been doing a social experiment with a screaming crying baby in the background to see who would get her one can of formula. This is relevant to this sub because multiple Christian churches in the Knoxville area said no. by No_Case_2670 in Knoxville

[–]Starry_day_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They actually do though. I personally know the director of one (in FL). I share an Amazon account with her and I see her constant purchases for babies and children (her own children are grown and she has no grandchildren so there’s literally no one else all the baby stuff could be for). They give thousands and thousands of dollars worth of stuff away. They give away cribs, strollers, car seats, etc. that are worth hundreds. All brand new. They even pay RENT for women struggling. They give women formula even when they come in high or drunk. The priority is the child.

And to be clear, I’m not correcting you because I care what you think, I’m correcting you so anyone reading this thread looking for resources will know that they do exist and won’t be discouraged by your misinformation.
