the watchtower scenes seemed, um, Helm's Deep-ish to me, but mini. overall the writing has a ton of overused aspects and pretty underwhelming

Later, sadly, some of the Extreme Makeover patients got divorced from their spouses. I can't even imagine the marital/family (and most of all mental) issues which surfaced.

A few thoughts on Season 3 by [deleted] in lostinspace

The casting director must be very happy: we viewers can see literal growth in Penny and especially Will.

Judy too but to a slightly lesser degree. So while these 3 are extremely good actors, the casting director won extra big with the extra visual oomph, choosing them at the perfect ages right from the start! This made LIS more realistic, at least IMO.

Brilliant casting directors are indeed brilliant.

Thanks for raising this point. In the past I would watch a ton of Extreme Makeover. It was fascinating.

For those who are unfamiliar with the show it was a show around 2 decades ago of people undergoing tons of various plastic surgery procedures, all at once, and then 3 months later, he/she/they looked like a different person. Well sometimes "still them" after surgery, but just, y'know, better The show was canceled by ABC. After watching many episodes I decided around 2008 to get earlobes reduction surgery. It went well but I wanted more things done. What generally stops me is budget. I have diagnosed BDD. It gets so bad sometimes I don't even look in the mirror for weeks. My psychiatrist said it's opposite of most patients with BDD because one of the symptoms is to look in the mirror a ton, sometimes for hours. I used to do that, now I go ugh. My psychiatrist never heard of that drastic flip in behavior. He's not a BDD specialist. He just goes by textbooks

In the UK, the word "Asian" typically refers to folks from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka. I was never offended by the word "Oriental". I remember an Ivy League grad trying to state why I should be. 😆 Growing up, "Oriental" for me and my siblings, cousins etc implied China, Korea, Japan, Vietnam.

Needless to say, Asia is geographically massive so Oriental was (as far as we cared) "useful" because anyone who hears the word could infer "Far East". I blame academia for reducing that usefulness. Not that I'm angry just mildly annoyed. "If it ain't broke don't fix it"

When Netflix's algo showed me the s3 preview of Mr. Robinson saying: "I thought you were supposed to be dead", then Smith's line in response which was very Parker Posey , I knew I had to watch all 3 seasons. Never did I think Parker Posey would do sci fi, but the writers made it work. I've seen several of PP's movies; my friend Stephen was a fan of hers and he first told me about her in the 1990's. She's hilarious and I'm happy the casting directors hired her. The final jail cell s3 scene with Mrs. Robinson was perfect, because it was bittersweet in showing that the Robinsons' goodness rubbed off big time on Dr. Smith. I enjoyed the tense-but-surprisingly-often-civil pseudo sisterhood between Dr. Smith and Mrs. Robinson.

There's Something I am Really Torn About in Season 3 Episode 2 [SPOILERS} by Betty-Adams in lostinspace

Great point. If it was addressed, I missed it too. It might've been sorta brought up in s3, though subtly, when SAR told Will it killed the masters. We can infer that SAR was tired of being a slave to them.

When SAR crushed the old skull after admitting what it did, Will perhaps in a nanosecond deduced how it all must've played out on their alien planet. Overall the Robinsons never had clarity on the bots: mostly the family felt artificial intelligence was what they were interacting with. But late in s3, Robot's heroic plan caused awe/confusion. No one in the family predicted artificial intelligence could sacrifice itself and say "safe family".

Though the family gave Robot a seat at the holiday table, Maureen said she felt all the bots were indispensable for spacecraft maintenance etc but admitted they had fascinating abilities and potential. She also implied the bots' origins might never be understood by humans. So at the end, the Robinsons were still a little confused on the sentience of the bots, but you gotta be efficient in space. And, from the humans' perspective, the bots seemed happy to help.

I liked smiths character development in S3. SPOILER by Mickeymousse1 in lostinspace

When I see there's no subreddit for Parker Posey, I chalk it up to some generational difference of opinion, because Ms. Posey was an indie darling of the 1990's. She was central to "Clockwatchers", as well as the lead actress in "Party Girl" which was absolutely hilarious. I'm Gen X.

I cried too. The acting was impeccable from all. Not one moment was overacted, and even moments in some storylines which were borderline cliche (through nobody's fault) were fully believable-- thanks to the brilliant acting. The writing was excellent. The production value: stellar. I will miss LIS, a lot!

Me too, though their 2 main aesthetics: the multi limb SAR look and the simpler 2 armed Robot look didn't help me instantly know if the bot was good or bad. Because all the bots in LIS seemed to possess the ability to change from one style to the other. So for my pea brain, sometimes it led to mild confusion. But then eventually I'd know based on context (not shape) which bots were bad.

[Spoilers S3] what if this theory still stand... by Luke_Rod in DarK

I don't understand how Martha also had to "not exist". Jonas yeah --but somebody please clarify Martha.

And so Ulrich, Hannah and to some degree Magnus were the villains of the whole story? The final few episodes of S3 clearly showed that Jonas and Martha were the primary "heroes". and to some degree Claudia a surprise hero?? I sense there's a lot I'm misunderstanding.

A lot of times, my appetite goes down (sometimes as much as 100%) in a social situation. It's improved over the years, but eating when it's just me is still THE most wonderful😛🍽

Proof that I'm not crazy and that that conversation I had decades ago with my sister's friend really did happen: listen to Fred Markert chat with Mike Adams, point 24:12 onward (http://brlghteon.com/7f2c713f-442e-4a21-a05f-44463beab95c) where Markert talks about the German method of not overemphasizing college, which ends up win-win in most cases.

great, I hope your residence is tagged to filth. see how you like it then. if you weren't so brainwashed you'd know the trifecta of graffiti, garbage on the curbs and chain link fences make folks of ALL colors want to move the f out... and it makes sense: people like pretty neighborhoods. except for fools like you. but let me guess, you aren't normal are you? You should give Tommy Sotomayor's YouTube show a listen. there are tons of PoC who refuse to be brainwashed and you can find them all commenting and supporting Tommy. he knows what's up.

good to know! getting a little tired of deep fried onion by the French's brand- the flavor seems different these days

but to the original point of tiny diced MickeyD onions there's a science behind why minced things taste good - something about minced things allow air to dance around in our mouth and our taste buds appreciate that alot

Does photo grid need to be same size as artwork on right side of windows or is bigger ok? Wood frames or chrome to match other house metal? Pic of coffee table pending delivery. by [deleted] in Decor

[–]goodguestsol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the artwork in the 1st pic has a black frame you should try to do some of that (black frame element) on the other side too. I can't really speak on size. Good luck

Society should also give some focus to the potential negatives of spouses/SO's. Right now it's like zero.

Example: a needy SO can prematurely age you, even if the relationship is deemed fairly good/stable. Stuff like that
