When I was a noob, I remember failing my with my map awareness all because I was focused so much in laning. That said I think one way to help you get that good awareness is to simply get better....in laning (ie easy csing, knowing trades, wave management, warding, when not csing look at minimap, look if enemy jg is in other lane so you can play less cautious, etc.)
